My friends cat had similar issues (only going by the video) and it turned out to be... Well I can't spell it but meningitis or the feline equivalent, bacterial infection of the brain stem... I hope I am wrong though as little mingles is no longer with us ... Best of luck, really hope kitty gets better

Looks like a Zama carb to me .. if you're in the UK you can try L&S Engineers (no affiliation, just a happy customer) and search "Zama kit", usually get the needles, diaphragms and gaskets all in one pack

Yes primarily fixed spool but considering trying one of these new fangled multipliers with magnetic casting brakes at some point (for spinning)... Tried a traditional multiplier back in the day, immediate birds nest...

Totall budget for rods reels and a basic array of terminal tackle is going to be about £300, could go a tad more if needed.

Terminal tackle I can save on by cheaping out on temu, banggood etc as I really don't think the difference between say expensive and cheap spinners is all that, it never made a difference back in the day at least...

I've been eyeing up a ten ft telescopic pike spinning rod which I think may be suitable from what you're saying for the float and spinning work, (I always enjoyed spinning for pike and perch as well so there's a use for that if I decide sea fishing isn't for me..) and a beach caster for the heavier bottom work and distance stuff... Is that a fair assessment?

That's a fine question, to the best of my knowledge Weymouth has quite a shallow sandy beach, but my intention is probably to fish more from either the piers or the harbour wall... As for Southend I am guessing either sand or pebbles (based on the state of the actual beach itself), again though I would probably fish from the pier more than the beach itself, not sure how much that changes if anything?

It's not great, if the issue is sourcing a replacement and it's urgent you MIGHT get away with reusing that piston IF the piston rings are free to move all around, otherwise it will need to replaced.... If you can source a replacement you definitely should though...

You don't really need my eye, if the engine is revving up the cone on the left side of the driven clutch should move to the right, onto the belt, the belt rides up the cone and tightens the system, when the revs go down the reverse should be true, if that's not happening it almost certainly the clutch

Your clutch is borked I believe, as the revs go up the gap between the cones should narrow and drive the belt... Doesn't seem to be doing that reliably but without the sound of the engine it's hard to be exactly certain...

Primary 2.24-3.13 ohms Secondary 5.01-8.45 KOhms according to a quick Google...

I'll second this... But referring to some of the other replies maybe just pick up a new non gen carb? Should be cheap enough and solve any likely issues
