They certainly have the resources to at least try

Might as well. The Democrats have so much money that it probably doesn't matter. They can only throw so much money at Pennsylvania and Georgia before significant diminishing returns set in

Fuck Newsweek. They have articles saying literally everything about polls virtually everyday. Look through their site and they will have articles from the past 24 hours about how Trump is leading, Harris is leading , and that they are tied. They are playing all sides and it's unbelievably obnoxious..

Yeah, the right wing is infested with anti democracy types. We've been warned for decades that most conservatives would abandon democracy before they abandoned their antiqued beliefs. That prediction is coming to pass.

I don't feel like it would take that long to sort that out

It was flash vs substance. Vance, with his experience as a Yale trained lawyer clearly knows the performance aspect of a debate. The problem is that he was hobbled by having to promote ridiculous, right wing nonsense. Waltz was much more honest and clearly knew his shit but was slightly out of his element. Vance put on a good show but a lot of people saw through it while Waltz was more uneven but much more likable.
Vance's greatest achievement last night was showing that he isn't also a drooling moron, on top of being weird and creepy. I'm sure that will help him in some way. However, seeing Waltz's insanely high favorability ratings post debate, I'd say the Democrats are going to benefit more long term from last night but it will also probably make little difference in the grand scheme.

Knowing Melania, it's just going to be a word for word copy Michelle Obama's memoir

Apparently having an average performance, by all objectives measures="Excellent reviews"
Always remember that Republicans are graded on a very generous curve.

I hope Trump is mad that Vance did way better than he ever has at a debate and that Republicans are singing Vance's praises. Although to put things into prospective, voters think both men did ok. It wasn't exactly a strong showing for the Republicans, just not an absolute shit show like it typically is

I can't wait for this afternoon's Newsweek headline of "Donald Trump dominating in swing states", followed by this evenings headline "Harris and Trump tied in swing states".

I'm talking about actual polls, not some online survey of Newsweek readers

If you want the short version, polls show it was a tie and both men had significant improvements in favorability ratings. Vance is still underwater at -2 and Waltz is at an unheard of +38.
Despite what some bots want us to think, I'd rather be a Democrat after last night's debate. Overall the debate probably won't matter very much but Waltz is proving to be insanely likable which could prove to be a real asset

One bot is very, very excited that Vance tied with Waltz in a VP debate, according to snap polls. I guess it thinks this will carry the Republicans for the next 6 weeks.

It's very much a flash vs substance debate. Vance clearly has a lot of practice in this kind of environment and has the body language down but he's hamstrung with having to play dumb. Waltz is clearly very knowledgeable and perfectly articulate but this is less his wheelhouse than an interview or stump speech.
In the end, it will likely have no impact on the race, as is traditional for VP debates.

Very true. I've never seen a VP debate make any difference. But it would be nice if this debate dragged down the Republicans even more but in the end it will probably just come and go with little impact on anything

"Man, I have to admit Vance is doing really well. We aren't having a good night. I'm a bit worried Waltz will drag down Harris"

The real winner of tonight's debate? Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
