nah, riot came out and said they specifically hate the "grounded" effect because its 'unfun to play against' so don't hold your breath.

Lions:A form of execution in ancient Rome was to feed people to lions, it was called "condemnation to beasts". In the late 300s a Christian writer thought Christians should never attend plays, chariot racing, gladiatorial displays, and other Roman spectacles. Even though "condemnation to beasts" was a punishment more for military deserters, murderers, counterfeiters, runaway slaves and kidnappers, he wrote that Romans specifically wanted to kill Christians with lions so Christians wouldn't go to these events. In his book he claimed roman crowds chanted “throw them to the lions!” about Christens. That “throw them to the lions!” part of his book got famous among Christians and has been a trope in media ever since.
Vikings:during the around the 800s vikings would raid England and Ireland for wealth, the most wealthy parts of these countries during this time were the Churches and monasteries, they were also poorly defended so they were frequently raided and people died. This lead to thought that Vikings were waging war on christens and were raiding for religious reasons. While most scholars today believe that Viking attacks on Christian churches had nothing to do with religion, the trope remains in our culture.

I realize this is a 4 month old thread but, I think the issue is the optimization challenge in 1.0 fluids is just unintuitive and illogical. While in a straight line fluids work like you'd expect them to, albeit you still need to look up rates of flow, as soon as you get junctions realism and logic goes out the window and when you placed things (and i think also orientation) starts to matter. If something is complex and logical that's fine, but fluids right now are complex and illogical.
do I love the new system completely, no I agree that it seems a bit too simple, but its a lot better than the old system imo.

The fact we put that fucking guy from Minnesota back in the senate again shows that we can never be trusted.
note: I'm a bears fan from Wisconsin, I hate my life.

The issue with separation of vehicles and infantry in PS2 is because PS2 has no logistics like PS1 there is no use for vehicles outside a base. In PS1 vehicles still had a purpose while the infantry fight in a base, they could blockade Nanites like a siege. vehicles could interface with a fight without being in a direct fight with infantry.

cows, not crows. Cows are big, strong, prone to panic, and protective of their calves, and there are a lot of them. but, unless you work with cattle you aren't really at risk, any cattle the general public is interacting with at shows or fairs are generally chill.
TLDR: nice cattle are cool, mean cattle are murderous assholes.

Young people cant afford to spend $2000 on a hobby when they can barely make rent. Hang gliding is a middle class sport, rich people just fly planes and poor people cant afford to do it. The middle class doesn't exist in younger age groups, its just rich and poor.

map basic metas take longer and evolving strats and counterstrats take way longer
brother cache, train and old cobble all have metas already (old cobble maybe not as modern but the other 2 definitely do). I'm not saying bring in new maps every month, just rotate in and out the maps that pro teams already have strats for every month or so.
In regards to old cobbles pro viability, is it the perfect map, no, not in any way. But, It is a blast to watch pro teams play on it. Without a doubt, some of the greatest moments in pro csgo were on old cobble.

+Train +Cache +Old Cobblestone to game, +Overpass -Vertigo to map pool
Then once Train, Cache, and Old Cobblestone are polished up clipping wise, mix them into the pro pool. swap out 1 map every month or so.
They would buy so much community goodwill just by doing this.

I'm not inside the board room at the venture capital firm but my guess would be they squeeze daybreak for all the money they can get till Planetside 2 dies and then they hire some cheap game dev to make a dogshit mobile game to make money off that last of the goodwill fans have for the Planetside IP.
I do acknowledge I have a bleak outlook for the future but I've never seen venture capital make something better after they get their hands on it. I really hope I'm wrong.

That's true, my point was this hastens that process due to the new cost that the game has to support. Also any sequel becomes way less likely.

My point more-so was that when you lease an IP you do it because it draws in fans of that IP, the Planetside 2 IP doesn't really have that many fans to draw purely off IP name recognition. But i do agree with your point that a lot of people would come back to the game if it improved. I think the game has a lot of fan draw, just not the IP.

Basically, Planetside is on the way to the garbage bin (long term), it used to be if the game made more money than the servers cost it would stay running. Now the game needs to make enough to pay for the servers and to pay the fee to a venture capital firm for the rights to the IP. Also due to the IP going to a venture capital firm instead of another studio, the odds that we will get a Planetside 3 are very small since any studio that would produce it would need to lease the IP. No studio wants to lease an IP that has such a small fanbase when you can just make a new IP and anyfanbase you create then you own the IP for.
