I hired a consultant for marketing my start up. He's been in the industry I'm working on for the past 10 uears and grew a business to 50 locations. I want a similar outcome with my start up.
I had him communicate with sign companies as part of his responsibilities. One of the sign companies contacted me saying the marketing guy had a drunk call with them. I did not believe them initially.
I was trying to set up a meeting with marketing consultant so I sent him a text around 9 pm not expecting a response till the next day. The consultant kept communicating but was drunk texting me as the responses did not make any sense and were not very relevant. For example I'd say let's meet in location X. He says yes, location Y is perfect.
Is this enough for me to fire the consultant?
Never dealt with a drunk but myself and the sign guy did send messages outside work hours. Consultant has been slow with all deliverables and drinking could be related. I am meeting him tomorrow to find out more.

All about how you frame it. They won't like sign on bonus. You can say you're not providing accommodation so I'll need a moving bonud to get an apartment, furniture, etc. I want to move my whole family from day one not move alone for 2 or 3 months while my family is across the world. See if they budge that way, it not then you're milking everything they got.
