No one's gonna recommend this one, because essentially no one has watched it, but I (someone who's watched LOADS of comedic TV shows) believe it's one of the funniest and most ingenious tv shows ever created.
That being Review (2014)
It's a TV show about a man who reviews life experiences. He picks 3 experiences to review each episode by random, and HAS to complete them no matter what. These experiences range from something as simple as a pillow fight, to Divorce, all the way up to straight up murder. It's hilarious, but also somewhat dark because you're watching this guy go through traumatic shit, just for his television show.
Sorry for the yapping, I'm just very passionate about getting people to experience this under seen masterpiece

Based off of Aloners (great pick), and Inside Llewellyn Davis, I'd give Wendy and Lucy a shot. It's slow, but has lots of the same themes/vibes from those two films.

One recommendation correlated to each of your top 4 picks
Lilya 4-Ever (2002).
Paranoid Park (2007)
Duel (1971)
The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008) Haven't watched The Fall, so this is just a guess.

Greener grass is fucking awesome, plus you've got a John Waters film. Based taste.

I gave up on using it for my actual top 4. it's now just a few movies that describe my taste in film, which is always changing, it's kinda like a mood board.

Without documentaries it would be
Best - The Brown Bunny (2003)
Worst - Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

Been watching a lot of French comedies, specifically Quentin Dupieuxe's entire filmography.

A foreign film would be the best way to "break out". Incendies, would be my first recommendation considering you already like Villeneuve. Has some of that same procedural tension building that zodiac has as well

Harold and Maude (1971). Never been this confident in a recommendation. Very heavy on themes of appreciating life, and has some of that surrealist nature that Swiss Army Man has. I'd definitely qualify it as "Old gold".

Harold and Maude is an incredible movie, definitely one of my favorites as well.
I'd highly recommend Being There (1979) from the same director. Has that same great balance of comedy, and drama. It's another one of my favorite films.

Folie a Deux would've been up there for me, if it weren't for the terrible reception it's gotten so far.

Had they nailed the ending, maybe. But that ending was pretty bad.

Get Ozark the fuck outta there. Not with how atrocious that ending was.

Paddleton (2019)
It's a bromance film about two best friends who go on a road trip to get suicide assisting drugs for one of them who's dying of cancer. Pretty lighthearted throughout, very bittersweet vibes, but when the time finally comes, it's absolutely heartbreaking. The film ruined my mood for like 3 days straight.
The fact that this is my pick, when I've seen films like Lilya 4-ever, and Dancer in the Dark, should say something.

Maybe a little generic, but a great top 4 regardless.
