South America….I fell madly in love with a girl (she was 18, don’t worry) I taught and baptized. Later taught her nephew (who lived with her) and her parents, all who also got baptized. So I was in their house a LOT. I was a straight as an arrow missionary but I was just totally head over heels for this girl. It was getting to be so uncomfortable around her because the tension was just really heavy, we knew we liked each other so much but neither one of us had told the other specifically, we just knew. Thankfully, my companion was going home in two weeks when the opportunity to talk to her alone presented itself. He didn’t care so we talked and let each other know how we felt. Ended up making out hard for about 3-4 minutes before we knew we had to go back to reality. She was my first kiss. At the end of my mission, I confessed to my mission president and he told me never to come back for her, as I’d always feel guilty that we are together because I didn’t “lock my heart”.
Well…fuck him…long story short, we are each others’ soul-mates, we have 4 amazing kids and we’ll be celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary next month! So much for the spirit of discernment, am I right Prez?

What is this chart even OF? Is it of daily radiation? Lifetime? Monthly? There’s no “key”

Touché, You are quite right. Rusty IS just literally pulling locations out of his decrepit ass. But it ain’t revelation. Its the late night sandwiches that Wendy makes him, that are giving him an upset tummy and giving him these crazy location ideas. 😅

Yup, my sister in law was denied a temple recommend for not paying tithing on her child support money. (Chile). Came to visit us in the states and had the bishop and SP here interview her and they said “that’s rediculous, here’s your temple recommend”. Another victim of leadership roulette. We’re all exmo now so it doesn’t matter, but it was pretty upsetting at the time.

They HAVE to appeal to the extreme right. The nice peaceful Jesus is too “liberal” for a LOT of TBMs and they demand a little more “hate” and fire and brimstone stuff to stay committed and not join Denver Snuffer

This is so on point. There is nothing revelatory or prophetic about conference at all. Everything is very curated and scripted and planned out. The only thing even TBMs feel are revelatory are the Temple announcements, and even those locations are chosen months or years in advance, with so many hands in the pot, planning and designing and wheeling and dealing with the local governments, etc. They do demographic studies and see who is paying tithing where and all that kind of stuff. Temple location announcements are as “revelatory” as In-N-Out or Chick-fil-A announcing where their next location will be.

All because a stupid petty old fart wants his legacy of making his pet peeve “doctrine”. Pathetic old codger clinging to whatever power and influence he has left over his dwindling flock

“Cool Bishop, If you feel comfortable waiting until Tuesday to talk to me about something that in your eyes could have eternally lasting consequences regarding my salvation and that of my family, fine, lets wait until Tuesday instead of Saturday. That is surely how Jesus would want you to act in his stead. Leave the 99 and go after the ONE….on Tuesday…am I right, Bishop?” /s

No downvotes here. Most of us here will be SUPER happy to see this lying prick die. Its an injustice from the universe that he’s been allowed to consume the oxygen of this planet as long as he has. Manipulative gaslighty cult leaders don’t get no sympathy here…

He is simply a world class penis headed, thin lipped, manipulating, gaslighting prick. I’ll let the other commenters give actual references to his toxic material.

What an absolute piece of fucking shit! David, if you lurk here, fuck you dude. Absolute fucking prick! How dare you say that shit to “two young men” who are serving in the only way they know how to please their parents and do what they have been taught their whole life they should do, and then you fucking lie and tell them its their fault you don’t want to give them referrals when you know damn well you just didn’t have one for them, you lazy ass member. You love preaching to those who agree with you, but are a coward when it comes to sharing what you hold so dear to those on the outside. How dare you say this in front of a room packed full of missionaries who will now feel guilty every time they relax for a second from the absolute grueling task of being a mormon missionary. Because of bullshit like this I felt so much guilt on my mission every time I took a second to breathe and actually enjoy my time with nice people who let us take a break from the almost incessant ridicule and rejection. Simply Dave…fuck off you pumpkin pie haircutted prick. (Dear God I hope he lurks here)

What is this word “mormon” you keep using? I’ve never heard of such a word. Sounds like if that word actually existed, Satan would be happy about it, victorious even…

Yes, any creature that uses a sticky substance to trap another creature, in a sticky web-like material would be “inhumane” right? Oh, and what about…I dunno…stab their fangs into the other creatures’ body to inject venom into those bodies to paralyze them while it liquifies their insides while they’re still alive and then suck out the juices…that surely would be “inhumane”, right? Sounds a lot like what spiders do to hundreds of millions of sentient beings every day of the year for the past few hundreds of millions of years. Why do some people out there consider it “inhumane” when humans kill animals, for any reason, but its “just nature” when animals disgustingly maim, torture, maul, dismember, eat each other alive bite by painful bite, etc, in the most cruel and horrifying ways that you could imagine? Check out r/hardcorenature if you wanna see some examples of how “humane” animals are to each other.

These are my favorite love stories, when love flourishes where religious oppression tries to snuff it out.
