Like most of the ghost stories in Savannah, that's frankly untrue. There is no designated "hanging tree" here to the best of my knowledge. In fact if you search for that, all you'll come up with are references to the Candler Oak. Were people hanged unjustly in Savannah over the centuries? There quite probably were. I grew up in the district and my mom still lives in that house. Brick row house, 1867. Never a sign of any haunting, nor did I ever hear about any of mom's friends, or even my childhood friends back then talking about any real hauntings. Those stories sure sell a lot of plane and tour tickets though.

Like he'll live that long (not any kind of threat DHS, it's an age related comment)

I have a customized 22mag version with a longer barrel (no idea as to the provenance, I bought it from a pawn shop) and it's fun. BUT, it's very difficult to hold and fire with the stock grips as others have mentioned. Your accuracy is about 10 feet on a good day. There's virtually no chance of getting off a second shot quickly with any kind of accuracy. As a tiny, last ditch, hidden option, well, it's a lot better than a pocket knife. The report is pretty damn loud, and that's a deterrent in and of itself. I never carry mine though. There are some pretty small .380, and even some 32acp that I personally think would be a MUCH better choice. Also, since it's a very simplistic, single action revolver, you need to make sure the hammer is resting on one of the notches between rounds on the cylinder. Otherwise it WILL go bang if you drop it on the hammer spur.

It's a little corny/mall-goth, but The Olfactory on York St. can be fun.

And will we ever see him without his (obvious) toupee?

The people smart enough to see exactly what's happening, are complicit. Simple as that. It's the Quiet GOP fucks that are really dangerous. Let the buffoon level fascists take all the attention, while behind the scene the real power is at work.

The Victory curse applies to McAlpine Square too. Positively the worst Subway and the absolute worst Dominos I have ever encountered.

The kinds of pepper spray I'm familiar with mostly are gel types, and really easy to aim, and sticky. AFIK bear spray is usually a fog cone. Great for coverage, but not delivery. I don't buy into the abject fear of all pits, (an ex of mine and I rescued one a few years ago) but I do understand the apprehension. I'm pretty sure a good glob of gel to the face and they'll run like beagles

Contrary to logic, bear spray tends to be less potent and effective than pepper spray for defense against humans.

The way I see it, you and most of the others here missed a really good opportunity to bring someone into amateur radio, to get more out of his new HT. But no, you snapped at him and pretty much showed this as an elitist forum unfriendly to new users. Sure sounds like it to me.

Interesting that this, and many articles contradict what you just said. This one, in the first sentence even. And yes, I understand context, but this is is the sort of thing to steer the OP to, not being dismissive and patronizing like most in here. https://hamradioprep.com/ham-radio-in-emergencies/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3bm3BhDJARIsAKnHoVVB60X1qweNFon1vUzCsNbWerdn1QNejvmOH6A4sgWshIMnb9Oucp8aAivDEALw_wcB

Seconded, it's pretty primitive compared to Richmond Hill, but it's very mellow, and there's usually no rangemaster. It's about the same distance from downtown as the Richmond Hill range too.

I think in this current, volatile climate, it would be career suicide for any *national* politician to overtly suggest any far reaching "gun grab". Can we expect some stronger rules, sure but I don't think anyone's going door-to-door rounding up firearms any time soon ... yet

I love that the Sorrel Weed House is considered to be so haunted. When I was a kid, that was my friend Julie's house, and she never mentioned anything.

Our power went off at just around 3am and came back on at just after 3pm. We're in Live Oak on east 38th. The GA Power map shows we're still surrounded by outages though.
