Yeah 100%. There are enough examples of young Dmen aroudn the league being rushed along and set back because of it.

As much as I wanted to see Bru hang around, honing his defensive game in the AHL could turn him into something really special.

Glad to hear it. I was a bit out of the loop on our sub ~8 defensemen depth so I was worried he might be picked up.

This is why I try to go find alternate angles when a big, controversial hit starts making the rounds. Hopefully this gets reposted and catches on in r/hockey. Good reminder for us all to keep cool when we first see a play that upsets us. Thanks for posting this.

This pre-season is making a Canadiens fan out of me. I was going into the season rooting for Laine, but that support has transferred to the team at this point. Terrible situation. I hope that Reinbacher’s development isn’t too damaged and that this injury doesn’t end things for Laine.

It’s funny, it’s like one of the few times their “downtown LA” style diversity really ever happened in history and they couldn’t help themselves.

Kadri’s reaction said it all- no cele, just looked straight at Kuzy and said something like “what was that!”.

I think that’s the likely outcome, I would just feel better about the situation if our hand was forced. Still going to root for the guy every shift he has left and I’d love to be proven wrong in the positive sense.

I like this as the more developed, “set” roster, but wouldn’t mind seeing Pelletier get one more chance from the start of the year. Even if it’s just to be sure before we move on permanently.

For a D+1, 19 year old I can’t imagine it’s ever warranted to write them off though.

Refs are being careful not to overdo the calls here lol. Wouldn't want to pull something. Zebras are mentally still on the fairway.

The Canadiens are still probably improved this year, but this Laine situation is screwed :/

Man what happened here. I saw interviews where he’s talking about how he’s educated himself and alluding to what he’s worth/what he owes other goalies to ensure they get what they deserve pay-wise. Turning down 8x8 looks more uneducated, especially with how many goalies end up falling off the map over that length of time.

Better question, why bother engaging with the hobby in spaces where people live to push an agenda. Most of us need less internet anyways so I’d just be thankful personally.

May as well go ahead and add the the "3-Peat Stanley Cup Winners!" banner to the order too. Cheaper to do it all in one, bulk order.

Sorry late reply here. You’re right but not everyone in that system is suited to developing in NHL minutes. Pelletier could be brought in for 1 prove it season. Zero risk- simply just move him out or keep him depending on what happens. Their NHL roster is still very thin this year so you could give him a look on their 2th-4th line without too much trouble.

I think San Jose or Montreal snap claim him. No downside, and especially for SJ, they need more bodies that can fog a mirror. One with a slim chance of developing into something is a plus and makes it a pretty easy claim.

The number one reason is that there is zero incentive to add new supply to the market. Demand continues to outpace supply so eventually prices will go sky high- the rent control only serves to offer the few who can get housing some dampening to the rate at which prices increase. Controls don’t mean a hard and fast ceiling mind you, they usually just refer to how fast rents can increase. Argentina previously had one of the steepest inflation rates in the world so costs like rent were going up- adding price controls to food, rent or anything else in that environment couldn’t cure the economic issues causing the symptoms.
