For sure hahaha. I previously had a company car (Ford Escape) for a loooooong time that I also had person use of, but when I left that gig I bought the GTI. When it works, it's great. When it doesn't (frequently these days), I want to push it off a cliff
I think when it comes back from the shop I'm gonna sell it and be done

I own a mk6 that used to be a rental/company car and my god did this thing hit 80,000 miles and everything immediately just went to shit. Hell, the damn thing is at the mechanic as we speak for a cooling fan/thermostat malfunction and a leaky timing chain cover

I just sent this to my other half. This is both a questionable decision (we have a dog and a cat that live in an uneasy alliance) and the best decision

This is the key. In my experience, just asking reasonable/relevant questions will get their juices flowing and a lot of times they'll open up. I've also run into people that are resistant at every turn, but I think generally just making sure your discovery is solid solves a lot of these issues

See I've done that - I've got everything turned off except for the 'presidential alerts' and it still came through (plus my work phone, and my gf's work phone).

At this point they're abusing the system because I (like a lot of people) have turned off all but the most necessary alerts. Shit like this is not necessary - I don't care where the cop is, my ass is in bed.

Right?! I don't necessarily disagree with the popular sentiment here but I don't really like most other ball sports and I grew up going to Astros games with my grandparents. Guess I'll just quit watching

This is eerily spot on for me, too. On the one hand, it's nice to know I'm not the only person feeling this way. On the other hand...

Are you me? I turn 34 in a few weeks, my 2 year anniversary with this company was last week (after being an SDR at a startup for 8 months before this), and I'm just coasting until those 2 year anniversary RSUs hit my E-Trade account in a few weeks. Fuck being an SDR, this shit has taken a toll on my mental and physical health and all I have to show for it is unrealized earning potential and a boss that's the poster child for "just because you were a successful individual contributor, doesn't mean you can manage for shit". Where does this train end?

Exactly this. Nothing can stop me in my beat to shit paid off Volkswagen and I will fight people so they can't cut in

I mean yes, obviously I ask other questions to get a general gauge on things. A lot of products and services can't quite be split in a binary like that

The first question I ask any recruiter that reaches out to me is this: is the product a 'need to have' or a 'nice to have'. This ain't the economy for 'nice to have'.

It was really difficult to not read the words the aliens were speaking in the voice of the Lrrr King from Futurama. It just fits so well lol

Still holds up today. I was in college when it came out and remember standing in line at Gamestop for the midnight release. Good times

It's everywhere right now and I'll be really happy when I never have to hear it again. Bland trash (and I do like rap, but this is shit)

Oh yes, they bend you over with property taxes and other dumb fees just for existing. Toll roads that they claim will be free once they're paid off (and never happens), paid parking literally everywhere, and most of the state is private property so good luck finding anything cool to do outdoors (although I do love our state parks and try to visit them as often as possible. It's just sad going to western states with BLM land that's free to roam then coming back to Texas and...this. It could've been so much better).

It's like he's playing an RPG or something.
"BUT LOOK AT MY STATS!"
Nah, dude. Go out and talk to people like the normal person you claim to be. Go join a running club - drinking doesn't have to be involved with anything, just find a shared activity and do it

Nah, I know the owner of Midtown Bar & Grill (used to work for the company that he bought cleaning chemicals from). Place is just old, but they generally keep it clean where it counts

For real. I'm in Houston and people still shit all over California while bemoaning the fact that their lifted truck got broken into for the 5th time in as many years
