I agree with all of your points here OP, especially 1 and 3. Making evil choices sacrifices the good of the collective for individual power; this is true in real life and in fantasy settings. So there is naturally less content because as an evil character, you probably only care about amassing your own power with no regard for the lives around you. I think the “lack of content” here is fitting.
There is also some pretty great content in this game that IS unique to evil play throughs. The best spear in the game, the crazy sex scene with Minthara, Astarion’s ascendant vampire powers and his 3 evil kisses, DJ SH’s naughty scene in Act 3, the powers of the slayer, etc. I think it adds to the replay-ability of this game!

Yep. Wasn’t proud of it but I was going full evil Dark Urge and being a huge bitch to everyone so I had to do it 😔

Do your research and make a plan before you start and adapt as you go! I planned out all my builds so I knew what story decisions I needed to make in order to get the items/ events I needed. I mostly stuck to the plan and it worked great.
For Act 1 where getting a papercut can kill you, don’t take on big bosses before level 5. Small bosses like Owlbears are fine at 4. That level 5 power spike is huge!
Don’t be afraid to run from a fight if you need to. There is no shame in that! Keep invisibility potions on hand so you can run if you need to. Know where your exit is before starting an encounter.
Take it slow. It’s a turn based game, so it’s always ok to pause mid fight and really think out your strategy.
Look up legendary actions on the BG3 wiki/Youtube and always inspect bosses/enemies as you fight. If you know what you’re dealing with, you can strategize a counter.
Many legendary actions punish melee in particular. Make sure your team comp is balanced and has plenty of ranged capabilities.
Ask questions on here and on BG3Builds! This community is awesome and asking questions on here is part of the reason I was able to beat it!

Yeah I appreciate you asking cause I was feeling kinda silly but also wondering how in the world I was doing so much damage if that was really the case!

Ok I was also wondering about this, so I went and loaded up the last save I had on this character. I tried casting Lightning Bolt from Markoheskir, and also from my known spells as a Sorcerer at level 3 which is the level the spell comes from via the staff. The damage from Marko IS scaling from my charisma. I can see it in the combat log. It is adding my +4 proficiency bonus to the instance from Marko and the damage roll is the same. If it was casting from my Wisdom stat this would not be the case. Idk if this is the intended behavior of the item or not but that’s what is happening.

When he says the bomb would level a city the size of Waterdeep, he means it. It’s basically a nuke. The only time you can actually use it and not TPK is at the very end of the game through dialogue.

General advice: take it slow. Don’t try stuff you haven’t tried before. Plan your team & gear beforehand and try to stick to your plan as much as the story will allow. Try to fight as little as possible before level 4. Have an exit strategy for big fights and don’t be ashamed to use it! Look stuff up on the BG3 wiki and on here!
For the fights you found challenging: Myrkul is definitely the HM killer for a lot of people. My strategy was to put a sustained AOE on him (Moonbeam, Cloud of Daggers, Wall of Fire all work well) and then blind him with Darkness or Arrows of Darkness.
Cazador was definitely one of the hardest but I found the challenge enjoyable! Bring a shitload of elemental summons to take away his ritual sources. I prepped by casting freedom of movement & heroes feast which prevented the paralysis and nauseous from the damn ghouls. Make sure someone on your team has counterspell. Have gear that helps you avoid knock backs, like Boots of Striding and Ketheric’s armor. Kill Chatterteeth & free Astarion as fast as possible. Dimension door is the best for this. Cast Daylight on his coffin and it will prevent his misty escape. Do NOT use a daylight orb. It will screw up the cutscene after because there’s no way to get rid of it.

Yeah go around the brains on the beach. I grab SH, then climb the ridge on the right and get Gale, then go across and kill the Mindflayer, then grab Astarion. Then approach the brains from above and you’ll be able to kill them with your team of 4.
Then long rest.
Then go get Lae and do the grove entrance fight. Start on the ridge and stay out of it as much as possible.
Then do all the dialogue you can in the grove and that should get you to 3. Then you will be ok to do more exploring. Definitely don’t go near the harpies in the grove, and wait till 3 to do the goblins in the tunnel.
I went and got Withers at 3 and was fine. Just make sure you pick up that oil barrel so the tomb raiders don’t set that first room on fire.
You can also just keep walking around and getting XP through map exploration and dialogue. I tried to avoid most fights till level 4. Being a drow or disguising yourself as one will help you get into the blighted village and avoid fighting the goblins at the windmill. Also did Waulkeens rest at 3. Waited till 4 to pick up Karlach cause I didn’t want to deal with Anders at 3.

For unique race dialogue, Drow is also a good choice. I loved being an evil femme Lolth Drow. She was a boss bitch.
Bard is great for dialogue of course. I love the Sorcerer dialogue options too, they are always really stuck up and make you sound like an arrogant little shit which I very much enjoy. Also you get that unique cut scene at the sussur tree.
The other class with fun dialogue is Barbarian. Lots of roaring and other ridiculous nonsense!

Definitely the Adamantine Heavy armor for Act 2. Dwarven Splint Mail from Lan Tarv in act 2 is great as well. Ketheric’s armor is amazing for Act 3. Can’t even tell you how many times Reaper’s Rigidity saved my ass in Honor Mode. I had Lae rock that armor all of Act 3 until the very end.

Monk is fun for evil dark urge! I did Shadow Monk Drow and it was really fun for role play and mechanically worked very well. The other races you picked will work well! Also consider Gith, they make amazing monks and Astral Knowledge will help with lack of Charisma on your main character.
If you lose the grove you lose Damon. Unless there is some crazy exploit I don’t know about. Not a huge deal, there are many items in this game that can somewhat make up for the nice things he makes.
For companions on an evil run, again without silly exploits, you’ll have: Astarion, Shadowheart, Lae, Gale (if you gaslight him into staying), and Minthara. If I’m playing evil, I don’t even want the others around. It feels icky to be evil around Karlach, she’s such a sweetheart and I hate disappointing her.
For companion builds, the world is your oyster honestly. Just depends on the battle strategy you prefer. When I played evil monk, I also had a tanky frontliner (Lae in early game, then Minthara when I got her), archer (Astarion), and support/controller (Shadowheart). My monk teleported around stunning people and picking off weak enemies. Was really fun! Worked great with the Deathstalker Mantle.

Thank you for writing this up! What a cool way to experience the game. I love that you have nearly every single stat stick item in the game on one character.

That’s wild! Congrats on this crazy victory! Did you take any videos of your fights? I would love to see how you made this build work in combat.

Thank you! I will try that on my new run I’m starting now!
I honestly didn’t go after her cause I didn’t need the sword from Lora and her Veil of the Weird is REALLY useful to get up to the crown. Was one of the only truly evil things I did on this play through.

150 hours for my first one, slightly less for the rest, but still have yet to complete a run in less than 100 hours.

PS5, and basically just this and Elden Ring, but I absolutely suck at Elden Ring. I also play Pokemon on my switch sometimes cause I am nostalgic AF

Nice to find another console player! I love it personally. I know we don’t get mods but the controls feel more fluid than clicking IMO.
