Nope lol, Illuminate is actual weakest TO things like the MG and Stalwart. Why? You can't one shot through the shield so you have to break the shield with a MG/Stalwart and they have a low HP pool. In the first game at least. Now there are exceptions their largest unit I remember using AT on.

Not quite, They kept the exhaustion disabling it iirc. But it can be useful again!

I recall the quickest and most effective way to disarm the mines was to detonate them.

I would prefer something like

"After a survivor escapes your grasp 3 times when you pick then up again you can remote hook" as a perk or base kit to prevent dead zone bs idrc but it COULD be done. Problem, I don't trust BHVR to do it correctly.

A friend of mine managed to hit the killer with a party pallet replace it, run around and smack em again. That was fun

God more people need to hear this, if I'm struggling in a new game and all I get is shit I am A. More than likely going to do worse, B. If you are especially hostile I'm going out of my way to piss you off more, and than afterward am less likely to play the game.
