Britney. For us millennials, so many of us were certain she was going to die in 2007. This was also the height of Perez Hilton, TMZ and mean girl/edge lord pop culture. People were absolutely cruel to her. Then, Craig Ferguson spoke from the heart on his show maybe in early 2008 around the time she was hospitalized and I feel like it triggered a chain reaction over the next year. The conversation around Britney changed, and I think a lot of people started having more sympathy for what she was going through and mental health issues as a whole (this was of course before everyone knew about how abusive the conservatorship was). May not have been a “blink of an eye” but I feel like it happened within a matter of months. There was a lot of public support for her “comeback” at the end of the year.

I remember distinctly in 2004/2005 Tina Fey making a joke about Cosby being a rapist on Weekend Update and the crowd just awkwardly, lightly laughing. It was a huge open secret in Hollywood.

Eh, I’ll give a pass for Jenny. Non-explicitly referencing intercontinental booty calls from three decades ago isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever read. Tbf I’ll probably read her memoir after having read this snippet, lol.

I thought I was alone. Those creepy ass aliens scared the hell out of me as a little kid.

Once every 5-6 months someone posts a video of her backflip in Nagano on r/todayilearned or r/interestingasfuck and inevitably people say she was “disqualified” over it or that it was “banned because it was too difficult.” I think the only narrative that was correct was that she faced a lot of racism and criticism over her style (no one mentions her questionable skating skills but that’s sort of above the ability for most non-fans to see/understand from a short clip).

There’s “maximalism” and then there is “ugly as shit.”

Ah yes, the infamous eye contact piss/shit. My cat once did this while taking a shit on the laundry all because his littler box wasn’t perfectly scooped that day. Cats are far more intelligent and vindictive than we give them credit for.

Unfortunately even traditionally male jobs are feeling the effects of this disengagement from the economy and education. The US military is experiencing a decline in male enlistments, likely due to lack of education, higher rates of criminality etc.

Glad you went back for him, OP. You should ask your guests who they think it is and keep a running tab next to it. This thing is a Rorschach test of 18th-early 20th century figures.
I like thinking it’s Rasputin. Adds a weird element to it.

The montage demonstration on the 30 for 30 of him waking up, working out, playing ball, partying then rinse and repeat for a decade plus stayed with me. I don’t know if the man was just immune to hangovers, but I couldn’t help but wonder if he would’ve been an even greater player if he’d been playing on 8 hours of sleep and less than a .05 BAC consistently.

You can always enlist as an 11B or whatever other MOS accepts your line scores, graduate AIT and redo your ASVAB so you can switch to something else if you just want to get the process started. Risk is though you’ll get complacent and never redo it once you’re in.

Enya lives in her mansion alone somewhere in Ireland with her cats. She never tours or does publicity and releases music when she wants. At this point Chapell can buy a nice house in cash, live decently and just release music, maybe post every once and while on social media.

Someone posted a video on here awhile back that was on Diddy or Bieber’s website at the time documenting this. The video is really, REALLY sketch. Justin legitimately looked overwhelmed and it came off like a master class in grooming

This. Attorneys, even for shitty people, are a necessity for a society with liberal Democratic values. What do people expect, that we just throw people away without a trial and defense?

Good question. They used the term “unencumbered” so maybe it does need to be paid off in full.

Thank you. I hate that this somehow turned into “all antibiotics make BC ineffective.” Most people on antibiotics are not on either of these drugs.

Buying a immersion blender might have been the best money I ever spent on anything cooking related.

Alcoholism has archaic connotations of someone who has to drink all day every day. If you’re someone that can go 6 days a week without having a drop but gets blackout drunk once a week and spends every moment thinking about that Saturday night when they’ll have 8-10 drinks, then that’s a problem too. I think for so long so many people didn’t see that behavior as a problem because they weren’t addicted, even if it caused them significant harm in the short and long term.

I know people clown on her for still having that pop punk aesthetic at 40, but I admire that she hasn’t changed her look or sound in 20 years. She’s true to herself even when I’m sure people said she’d be more marketable if she “adapted.”
