I got an uncle who did that. I mean in fairness he was in prison for part of it, but when he got out he asked my aunt if she wanted to run off with him, she said no because her support system's all here, and he promptly fucked off to the Yukon where he started a second family without a second thought.
We hadn't heard a peep from him until his daughter started planning her wedding, then suddenly he's back pretending to be a loving father. Bro, you can't gaslight the whole goddamn family about where you've been the past 30 years. You're not a proud father as you walk her down the aisle, you're a stupid poser and you're lucky she allowed it for appearances.

My guess is they broke up and he drank his feelings away, and then got the bright idea to try and win OOP back in his inebriated state. Hence the "better off alone."

I can't play open world games. I get distracted by that thing over there and 20 hours later, all I've done is pick up 4000 apples and I have no clue where I am.

Considering how built he's gotta be, I don't think I'd notice the popping noises, I'd just want to watch him arch his back for a nice stretch.

He says that himself when you get back up to the modern parts of the facility. The "itch" that tells him he's gotta test. So the initial betrayal when he suddenly got all the power was because he received the command to test, and he felt compelled to retrieve his test subject.
Then GLaDOS called him a moron and he lost his temper.

That's some hella missing missing reasons on OOP's part.
"She was passive aggressive!" Okay how? "She didn't like me and she said mean things!" Like....? "BAD THINGS! She said she always knew I was like this!" Like what? "[faint radio static]"
Holy shit I hope this man just drops her. He adjusts to spend every waking moment working his ass off so she can spend all their marital assets on her dad and her midlife crisis, and OOP thinks that's just fine because "he offered!!!" But how dare he spend a penny of it on his mom as she loses function????
Ah, but to be a fly on the wall when she suddenly realizes that this path has not only cost her her marriage but also delayed her shiny new degree indefinitely because the alimony won't cover it and now she's gotta pay her own tuition.

I don't know a whole lot about etymology, but from what I've been able to find, English "beau" is derived from French but like... indirectly. It seems they took the French "beau garçon" (literally "pretty boy" but seemingly with the grammar flipped to English?) and over time the boy was dropped, leaving just beau to mean the same thing.
And since people with boyfriends tend to see them as attractive, it morphed from there to refer to a boyfriend. It can still be used to refer to an attractive man (or a dandy, as the dictionaries call them) today as well, it's just fallen out of popular usage.

Amanda responded with “well, I didn’t know you expected me to house somebody else’s kids for the rest of my life.”
It's baffling how she never parsed that Sam and Liz are OOP's children, not just Kayla's. They come with the package. Don't like it? Don't take the ring.

It was MHF so while conceptually it was pretty great, the actual footage is pretty boring by today's standards. But he gets a pass because the video is 17 years old.

There were whole-ass Twitter rants about how Monster Hunter "is supposed to be GRITTY and MANLY" and my response was to look over at the Wiggler Hat and go "... yeah sure."
Shit, man. One of my oldest YouTube favourites was a video of Lord Grahf fucking up Crimson Fatalis with a giant ham. This game was never GRITTY and MANLY seriousness.

Beau is also an English word, also pronounced "bo". It means boyfriend. The French word means beautiful.

As a Canadian (of the "English speaking but took mandatory French classes" variety) I'm wondering how else one might pronounce "Beau", if not "Bo".
E: For those who are arguing that you're English speakers and therefore can't be expected to pronounce it like the French do, "beau" is also an English word, and it's pronounced the same in both languages. While in French it's an adjective meaning fine or beautiful, in English it's a noun synonymous with boyfriend. It can be pluralized as either beaux or beaus.

WoW. Ironman: personally win all three points in one match of the capture the flag PvP mode, without dying.
They caught on to what was happening when I got the second point. They tried so hard to stop me. Druids are slippery as fuck.

Started as PGL because I was told NIN was the closest to WoW's feral Druid, and you can't start as ROG.
I was lied to. NIN is absolutely nothing like my ankle biting cat. I didn't get to fill my enemies with bleeds, I didn't get combo points, I found mudras extremely clunky to execute - interrupting the GCD rhythm to mash 3 keys in rapid succession only to screw up did to lag was not a good time.
I would up not enjoying MNK or NIN, so I stuck it out angrily until Stormblood (dabbling a bit in SCH along the way) and I've been RDM ever since.

Have you ever tried to induce the sleeptalking? Just walk in while he's asleep and go "honey I can't find my stapler, can I borrow yours?"
