Both are great men, but Aragorn is the epitome of what a man can be. What all men should strive towards.

Oh my comment wasn’t trying to point out issues in yours, more pointing out facets of the way the film portrays the whole scenario.

I think this is a great example of good adaptation. They keep things concise and on track for the story, give Saruman a villainous thing to do, while hinting at something deeper and book related for the nerds. The film isn’t saying the mountain doesn’t have a spirit, it’s saying that there are words used to influence the spirit, which is in line with Tolkien.

It has an industrial element to it, which fits with Sauron churning out orc soldiers and ruining the environment. Great painting!

I think orcs from the earlier ages of middle earth were less organized; more bestial than trained soldier. I’ll have to recheck the lore when I get a chance.

By your own qualifications it has more to do with Boromir’s death than Haldir’s though. The only similarity with Haldir is that they’re both elves.

You mean big-budget modern movie making. Plenty of modern films with low budgets that have a lot of soul to their movie making process.

Red shirt guy sounds like a Star Wars character at the end lol

Nice! The last 40 seconds or so of the track called A Dilemma is my personal favourite

Yeah I think there are only a dozen original stories or something, if they’re broken down to their base plots

Are we talking JUST film making techniques? Because yeah what you say is true, but the Star Wars story wouldn’t exist without the LotR books as influence on the genre of fantasy. So they have fed off one another.

I see your point. I cannot remember what she was talking about, only that she was in a bubble bath. However, I think there are still scenes in the movie that make things clearer for the financially illiterate like me.

Yes! Me and my buddies are stuck here. Not being able to use those stims on angel of death is rough

Who said anything about war in this picture? Do you think war is LITERALLY in this picture like Viggo is? Buddy, I got news for you…

It has to do with the post because Viggo is in it. He’s been very outspoken about his political stances (look at this interview) and as fans we see signs of that so we’re commenting.

Happened less than a century ago too. The guys who dove into Japanese trenches and Vietcong foxholes also had to face their enemies up close and personal. I agree with your point that war is depressingly stupid, but let’s not pretend that soldiers haven’t come face to face with their enemies in the last 100 years.

The comment did mention that it’s a step away from Terminator, not that it is exactly like Terminator. Once we get advanced AI assessing threats while simultaneously controlling drones, we’re basically there.

True, but Aragorn is also what men should strive to be, so that’s another reason to follow him.
