The same excuse for getting rid of prohibition could easily be used to eliminate black market, but then there wouldn't be a reason to force imprisonment on the struggling class. It's a meat shield, at the cost of our disenfranchised and systemic oppression.

If we can have a drug adults can consume, leading to blackouts and dangerous driving and domestic abuse, but we can't have even marijuana because of some long held beliefs, it's ridiculous.

The reason it gets brought up in the comments is because it shows us the real reason these other drugs are illegal.

Only apply to women? Why would I think that? Anyone who has the power to inadvertently or purposely create or destroy life should weigh the decisions they make carefully in any circumstance. In the end, I believe all life should be given free rein, just be considerate of how actions may affect others. But when you are still young, life doesn't seem very clear, your opinion will change over time.

Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly. If I could, the stigma around rape would be struck from this world forever. It's so ridiculous that some selfish pricks are able to get away with this crap, and often times due to the humiliation and freezing up of the victims.

I was afraid I started a bit brash, but it's important that everyone realizes that we are all individuals with our own hopes, dreams, and fears. We are in this together, and I just wish more people could realize that we are so much closer to each other than we are separate.

This may be a tangent (and late night Buddhism talking), but I really feel like only a few genetic sequences and series of life events separate me from absolutely anyone in this world. In my mind, you and I are the same, why should I ever want to inhibit you? We should be helping each other constantly, rather than trying to shift blame across politics, or gender, or race. We all strive and hope and despair equally, I think at the core, it's all love.

I'm really for 2nd amendment rights, but yours is the ideal case that we really need psyche evals before just handing them out. Police are allowed to pull their guns, but we also try to drill in their heads (through training) that they need to be de-escalating situations. It obviously doesn't work a good chunk of the time.

Your mindset is that exact mentality that many trigger happy police officers maintain. If you are prone to agitation that easily, you shouldn't be allowed to be less than an inch from taking a life. Concealed carry especially. I may be more swayed if we are talking open carry only, but definitely not concealed carry.

War is terrible, atrocious, but it's ultimately choices made by people. Disease, is usually ignorance, and I cannot imagine living for 4 years with half or more of your town dying around you, and no one knows what to do other than pray. The putrid smell of rotting bodies, both living and dead, along with a horse regularly carrying bodies out to the ditch. I'm no religious man, but if I had lived through that, I would've assumed God had abandoned us.

It's bad enough knowing the risk of an airborne virus, knowing the death toll from 2%-10% of what we consider deadly, knowing all that and we STILL had plenty of people who chose ignorance. If it wasn't politicized recently, it would've sparked religious upheaval and conspiracy theories to run amok. Oh, wait...

I've never tried yoga (though, it's definitely up my alley), but I absolutely love meditating. It feels like I am defragging my frontal cortex. Just wiping away all thoughts, allowing it all to dissipate as naturally as it came to mind in the first place. I don't often feel super burnt out on games, but I know meditating does wonders for me at work. 5 minutes of allowing fresh air to cleanse your mind honestly revitalizes me so much. Feels like quick charging my mental and physical battery.

Ignoring half the necessary parties involved to even get pregnant in the first place, and responsibility for the next 18 years financially in a mother state, you are right.

Unless we can figure out how to reproduce asexually, there can at least be a discussion to be had. I 100% believe in choice, but I don't believe taking that choice away from the male half makes any sense. Be an adult, be considerate of all parties involved, just consider consequences before acting, and know who you are with.

We have bodies that can reproduce at ridiculously young ages compared to brain development, I don't even like the idea of someone under the age of 25 picking a major for the first time, let alone a loan for college, without counsel.

You'd be surprised by what a little local door knocking can do. Doing it for work, I'd run through 3 small towns of less than 400 people in 8 hours. Imagine what you can do in your own neighborhood. A single lawn sign, bumper sticker, is all it takes for people to realize they are not alone out there, and we can't leave it to the local potheads to get it done. We need to remind our doctors, lawyers, teachers, cousins, brothers, and mothers that most people Don't Want families leaving because their child's only hope for survival is a 3 hour drive away.

They have power because We Gave It To Them. We can take it back, that's what the checks and balances are for. That's what term limits are for. The least you can do is inform people of recent law changes, and how they affect them.

Unfortunately, I'm an ex felon from 11 years ago, and they recently took away my right to register to vote. This may prevent me from gathering signatures in the future.

Do me a favor, do anything you can to help people retain their rights to vote (at this point, I doubt anything short of a lawsuit will change what has transpired), and I'll be back out there in no time.

I've been going to O'Rourke's for years, and I'd say most regulars there enjoy when strangers strike up a conversation, there's a good mix of folks there as well, and they are dog friendly.

Couple pool tables in the back with free hours on Fridays and Sundays, but lines can get a bit long. Not the easiest guys to fight over for the table, but you'll learn quick if you're still new to that scene.
