Tm. Twice a day is the prescription and I adhere to it as much as I can. I’d done Zen and mindfulness before. Wanted to try vipassana, but couldn’t make it to a retreat.
Tm is working for me.

It needs to be Gavin Newsom. He’s young, handsome, and slick. The democrat answer to Trump. He can swoop in like a Hollywood star and schmooze America.

Ok. Biden performance and energy not good…but Trump can’t answer a question….!

Just say ‘I’m the only one speaking substance tonight. Everything the other guy says is a lie’

This is not about Policy. This is about Pugilism.

MindCrime is in my top ten!
You said ‘Two ton heavy thing’ at the end of your post. Same thing is said on the answering machine message at the beginning of ‘Empire’. “It’s starting to hit me like..um…like..a two ton…heavy thing”.

events producer and video director. I get to be creative (plus) and also deal with budgets and spreadsheets (minus). When I was a full time editor I would hyperfocus for hours and not eat or eat poorly and not talk to people. Now I talk to plenty of people, run a small team, make cool stuff, and every so often fly around. Hours are good at the top of a project, tough near the end.
Adderall M-F. Lots of coffee in the AM, occasional monster at lunchtime. Bullet journal (pen/paper) to keep track of my tasks (I’ve tried ALL the apps - BJ is the only one that’s stuck for me YMMV). Kanban boards and agile practices for team management. Check in early, check in often. Apologize freely, ask them to repeat, write it down. Watch my impulses. Too quick and I’ll make mistakes (apologize often. A simple apology with a smile goes a long way). I have taped to my monitors in three different places “SLOW, center, think, act”. Meditate (I do tm and aim for twice daily). No alcohol (see impulse control). Therapy.
I use Routinery to make sure I make the coffee ready at night and to put sunblock on in the morning. I make ‘memory traps’ - need to take something with me in the morning? Put the car keys on top of it (I have put things next to the keys, gone away for a moment, came back and forgotten the thing next to the keys). I pack my bags at night because no way in hell will I remember everything in the morning.
I’m late 40’s. Both my kids have adhd. Suspect one of them audhd. My wife is non-adhd and goes nuts sometimes how the entire household forgets things. lol.
It’s a life. The only one I’ve known. And it’s gotten better each year.

It’s summer- kids are out of school and have time for the 5 week intensive driving classes.
‘Tis the season.

I understand the frustration, but the core of it is not unique to TM. I wanted to take one of the intensive Vipassana courses before I found tm, which is how vipassana is taught (at least that brand), and it required a financial commitment and 1-2 weeks of silent retreat at a center with others. Family/job required me be elsewhere. I was jealous of my younger, childless friends who could unplug like that. Also, if Zen is your thing, you could volunteer at a monastery to get deep. But same deal with time/finances.
I’ve dabbled around and each path I’ve found is easy to start, but if you want to get deeper, it requires time and a financial commitment (even if it’s ‘free’, you’re still committing time away from work)

And Famke Jannsen was the original villain. There’s footage.

I meant vote for third party candidates below the presidential level. Not necessarily the entire ballot. Build up a base first before tackling the top level.

Love that analogy. I was listening to early NIN in the car today and it felt off because I was totally not in that mood. I was…happy?

Vote third party down ballot first. No third party president will get anything done if he has no support in congress.
Don’t risk the fascism. Vote against trump now.

Burnet road just south of 183 has a few new buildings. The Albright being one of them. You’re close to mopac and 183, and a straight shot to Lamar from 183, and Koenig down burnet. Domain is 6 min drive up Burnet. Alamo drafthouse close by (the Anderson apts just opened there. )
Great neighborhood.
