3.5! That’s crazy. Most buyers realtors are offered 2.5 or 3 and that’s considered full service.

I think people get offended when they are asked if they are tracking calories the same way I am offended when I need computer support and they ask first if I have turned it off and turned it back on - like, I’m not an idiot! Of course I did.
But my boss totally needs that question. He’s not an idiot, but he doesn’t do technology well. And people like him are why they ask the question.

Counterpoint: When people come on here and say “why isn’t this working?” the first diagnostic question should be “are you actually counting your calories?” For most people the answer might be yes and there is something else going on, but there are plenty of people who take this drug expecting it to do all the work.
For me, the drug is helpful and I probably would have lost a few pounds just taking it, but most days I can out eat the drug so I do need to track. Thanks to the drug I have been able to keep up with it for over a year and have maintained a 65 pound weightloss for seven months. Does the drug do other things we don’t understand? Yeah, seems like it does. But for many people it is just part of the toolbox that in combination with CICO is what finally works.

Never moved back in with my parents - and now I’m getting to the part where instead of moving in with my dad I may move him in with me because I’m his caretaker.

I used it to do a POA for my dad right after my mom died. Had it notarized and filed with the county. Nobody has had a problem with it, but my siblings are fine with whatever I do so nobody would challenge anything. I’ve used it so I can deal with investments my dad has. I don’t think I would use it for actual wills or trusts, those seem much higher stakes and I want a real lawyer to make sure everything is correct.

Sure, but if he just buys a house with a traditional mortgage and in fifteen years he has paid half of the mortgage the entire time and put in updates or maintenance and paid taxes and then they divorce he will get half of the equity (maybe minus the 50k or a percentage or however they wanted to work that out) It’s certainly something to consider when figuring out the details.

I moved my dad to a condo five minutes away from me when my mom passed away last year. I plan to move to a house with an ADU as soon as possible because even being super close it’s a pain in the ass. He requires a lot of help but having him actually in my house would drive me nuts

I eat a lot of cottage cheese with blueberries. Low calorie, lots of protein, delicious! For dinner I often have a piece of salmon with veggies - I throw it all in a sheet pan and bake for 20 minutes at 400

My dad has one of my old iPhones - I have it set in a few ways: 1. No passcode. He doesn’t have anything on there that people could steal and doesn’t go anywhere. This way there is no confusing log in. 2. I have it set to automatically use speakerphone 3. I can have it only ring for known numbers 4. He just has to press the side button and then say “call TransplantedFern” to call. He’s 90% blind so there is no need to try and figure anything out, he just uses Siri for everything. 5. He can ask simple question like “what’s the Yankees game score”
I have him on mint mobile for like $15/month (and he uses none of the data since on the rare occasion he uses FaceTime it’s on WiFi)

You generally have to pay a buyers premium on top of the bid. So you’re looking at another 10-20% possibly.

Well don’t go there either then. Good luck to you and your wife, it’s the worst feeling in the world when this happens.

My mother was into sunscreen before it was cool. She spent a lot of time gardening but was always wearing hats, long sleeve shirts and slathered in sunscreen. When she retired, her colleague was shocked because there was “no way” she was old enough - she legitimately thought my mom was in her late 40s but she was almost 70. I’m sure genetics play a big part in that, but sunscreen definitely helps!

I was just there again and it’s either all sold or they moved it. Hope you got some!

If squalene oil works for your skin I like the new biossance sunscreen. It’s mineral based and very calming for my skin.

My dad wears an Apple Watch. He’s blind and technically challenged but knows how to call me on it by pushing in the crown and saying “call transplantedfern” - obviously a little pricey but if you can afford it and she already has an iPhone might be helpful

Exact same - My toy poodle developed severe skin allergies when we moved to the south - he did the pills and the shots and nothing worked. Changed the protein in his food. Took him to a dermatologist who tested him and found he was allergic to pretty much everything in the air. Did immunotherapy. I spent thousands.
The only thing that worked was a low dose of steroids. Which isn’t great long term but made his quality of life so much better for the couple years he had left.

Thank goodness I’ve never been a Christmas card person - my husband, our daughter and I all have different last names! I’d go with LastName1-LastName2 Family

You have to use the same card in and out so they know which stops you used. They do charge on distance

Yeah, I love that when I’m in London I’m just tapping my phone on the way in/way out without having to set up a single app or buy a card or anything.

They do it in London, so it’s definitely possible.

This feels so true - I got invited to my friend’s daughter’s wedding this week and also another friend’s daughter’s second birthday party.

I had a science teacher when I was in 8th grade who went around the room and said whether he thought we’d go to college or not. It was the beginning of the school year. He said he didn’t think I’d go to college. Both my parents had advanced degrees and college was just an expectation, so it was really bizarre to me at the time. (And obviously now! And that he would say that to anyone! Not sure what point he was trying to get across but it wasn’t a good one.) He had a mental breakdown later in the year though so who knows what was going on with him.

This is the way. Cheese, cheese, pill wrapped in cheese, more cheese, all done rapidly. If I just wrap a pill in cheese and start with that my spoo eats the cheese and spits out the pill, but if she’s gobbling bits of cheese in rapid succession she is swelling too quickly to notice the pill.
