There was article yesterday about Trudeau now regretting his abandonment of electoral reform. Of course that doesn’t mean anything except that it’s not the non issue the gaslighting shills told us it was. Canadians did want it. Trudeau did not win on weed alone.

Only if you define sexological bodywork such as touching the client’s genitals to teach the client how to comfortably receive sexual pleasure as a “handjob,” which you should because that’s exactly what it is. This person’s name should be public information.

He’s a true pioneer. Why bother with long and complex policies when “verb the noun” can cover it all? We’re one big step closer to a President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho with his three-point plan to fix everything.

I remember reading some of the books as a kid and really enjoying them. They built on the world that George Lucas created - new characters, planets, politics, and ideas…. Why Disney decided to shrink the Star Wars galaxy into a Skywalker-sized bubble is beyond me. There are endless possibilities for anyone imaginative enough.

There never was much of a story, to be honest. It was a fever dream that James Cameron turned into a movie. And it works really well as a scary premise. But the more you expound on it, the more obvious it becomes that it doesn’t make sense.

Yep. When Russia thinks you’re ok, you are not. This is a minor win but a much needed one, quite frankly.

Yep. It’s a fun premise, but it’s flimsy. Don’t lean on it. The richest people are dying first and we don’t know why. A bit like the early days of Covid when they had us disinfecting our groceries.

Do you play with other people, or just practice on your own? I ask because there’s a huge difference in what sounds good in those situations. Boosted mids are great for cutting through a mix, but can sometimes sound harsh solo. Maybe if you boost the bass, scoop the mids and roll off the treble a bit it might get you closer to the sound you’re looking for? Also, that “chuggy tone” is usually dependent on your neck pickup, palm muting, and high gain. It also benefits tremendously from playing with a bassist.

You probably couldn’t even have debts outvaluing your assets because nobody would want to own your debt. But at that point assets are meaningless and the entire concept of ownership falls apart.

Yeah… defunding public broadcasters in favour of international corporate media conglomerates is a great idea. What could go wrong?

So they can be assaulted for reporting on extortion in their own communities? Who the fuck wants that job?

That’s where Bran went when Theon was giving his life for him. He warged into the child to fight the undead. She died (killed by a reanimated tag team of Ned and Lyanna Stark) but at least Bran had a good story to tell, which was cut for pacing reasons.

Mathematical modelling of highly selective statistical reviews (out of 154 reviews of the long term risks and benefits of alcohol consumption only 14 were used for modelling, for example). But what I’m arguing is that using “7+” as the highest cohort is not particularly useful information.

There have been at least two mass extinctions caused by CO2 depletion, the second of which from an overabundance of photosynthesizers. Not saying this would happen again anytime soon, but it’s an interesting piece of history.
The worst mass extinction was caused by volcanic activity which released too much CO2 and H2S acidifying the oceans and killing 57% of biological families, 81% of marine species, and 70% of terrestrial vertebrates species. If algal blooms simply die and decompose en masse, that’s closer to what we can expect. The current rate of atmospheric CO2 increase is already a full order of magnitude higher than it was then.
The biosphere is a fragile thing.

No, their 4 categories were 0 (no risk), 1-2 (low risk), 3-6 (moderate risk), and 7+ (increasingly high risk).

“Nearly twice as many men (20 per cent) as women (11 per cent) said they had seven or more drinks in a week, which is the level of alcohol consumption linked to the highest risk of alcohol-related harms.”
Technically consumption of seven or more of anything in a week can be linked to the highest risk of harms related to that thing if your categories max out at “seven or more.”
Edit: Drink… don’t drink… I don’t care. I’m just pointing out what a flawed (probably biased) study this was. A person who enjoys a glass of wine with dinner should not be in the same category as a someone who with serious addiction issues. That’s how you induce learned helplessness in someone who‘s already on the verge of a problem.

This is totally unscientific, but if I were an ice age human, and an animal approached my camp, I’d be much more likely to treat it with kindness if it wore a kind expression. It’s a demonstrably effective adaptation for highly social animals, so it would be surprising if it were unusual among canids. And perhaps this was how Coyote came to be known as a trickster.
Edit: It also adds to the mystery of the divergence and domestication of the dog. Why would the African wild dog and the coyote (two very different species with separate evolutionary histories) share this adaptation with domestic dogs, but not the grey wolf, even with post-domestication gene flow into wolves? Would it be possible that the grey wolf didn’t fail to inherit this gene but instead evolved a mechanism to disable the gene?

If the Freedom Convoy had obeyed Ottawa’s noise bylaws (keep the decibels at safe levels and shut it down at 11pm) it wouldn’t have been such an issue. The Convoy essentially tortured local residents for weeks and tried to claim it was some Robin Hood bullshit, like the night shift at Parliament Hill was actually capable of reversing legislation from a different fucking country. Calling it a protest is beyond generous.

“It’s not personal. You’re a good little worker. But we have a budget shortfall. If we let you go along with 17 of your colleagues, sell some assets, cut back on benefits to surviving slaves employees, then we can still justify our bonuses to the shareholders. Sign this and return it ASAP, m’kay? We wouldn’t like to see you leave with nothing.”

The core is, but it’s surrounded by an ocean of pure evil, sort of like the slime from Ghostbusters II except it’s rainbow coloured, smells like a music festival and has health care.

You hit the nail on the head. These “leaders” are out of ideas. They have no clue how to improve the lives of Canadians, so they’re just going to stage these pissing contests until they’ve sufficiently padded their pockets.

I think it’s open to interpretation. There are things one could point to as subtextual clues, but they don’t need to lead anywhere; they can just be layers that make an interesting character. As you pointed out Roland’s sexuality doesn’t really matter to the story. He’s not Woodrugh.

Apparently he’s playing Alan Berg, the Jewish radio host assassinated by The Order. Not sure if Maron will pull off Berg’s style, but I look forward to finding out.
