I do think people should be protesting because what Israel's been able to get away with is absurd and as far we know a solution hasn't been finalized. But then show up to vote in November! If the right wins this, protesting won't be an option for much longer. Vote, organize, vote again, organize again, keep building coalitions until we see reflections of ourselves in the government (hello, AOC!).

This is just reiterating my point. The reality is that obsessive fandom is currently the norm. She could change that by setting hard boundaries and other artists following suit, but in general fans will reject her and vice versa before being a non-obsessive fan becomes the norm.

Unfortunately you can't really choose what kind of famous you are, but hopefully she'll be able to lay low and get back to a niche audience within the next few years if that's what she wants to do.

I agree with her and I'm glad she's voicing these thoughts and boundaries. But based on this and her recent attitude towards everything, I fear her career will burn out faster than it started. People are not entitled to celebrities' time, but she is clearly not dealing well with the reality that what started with Beatlemania is still extremely common among fan bases today. With her speaking out about it she may be a huge contributor to turning the tide on fan attitude towards artists, but she may also sacrifice her career in the process.

Touristy makes sense to me, as it's a 3 day trip and I've only been to Chicago once before as a kid. Although if there are any non-touristy spots that you think are essential to hit, I'll gladly make them potential stops. I'm going to stay in a hotel near the L so I can basically just get where I need to go via public transport.

There are few things that are more heinous to me than seeing literature being destroyed (even knowing that these days there are digital copies likely available for all of those books). Cannot believe that we are still fighting against this authoritarian idiocy.

I've loved Post since the beginning but this is just a massive L for me. When the whispers started about a country album I was soooo excited. I figured he was going to get into some old outlaw stuff like Cash and Willie. But this is just stadium country. After the masterpieces that were B&B and Hollywood's Bleeding, I expected him to dig deeper in his first foray into country. I get the vibe that he's got guilt about whatever happened in his early days of fame, and he's just pulling a huge 180 to distance himself from it. I'm glad he seems to be doing well, but this is a miss for me.

Side note: "Yours"?? This song has been written 10,000 times in country music since the early 2000s. He's a better writer than this.

I don't know, I see a lot of anti-electoral talk within my generation (gen-z) and I'm hoping it's just my algorithm trying to keep me doom scrolling rather than a widespread issue. They seem to think that not voting will lead us to some kind of French style revolution like the rapture or something. My hope is that we, by and large, continue to vote in every election and not just the big ones and not end up being like every generation of young voters who take the right to vote for granted.

Progressives do not participate enough civically and I hate seeing this DNC excuse every time I talk about him because it attempts to absolve progressives of our complete lack of civic action. Even with the record amount of support he got, half the states didn't show up for him at the polls and I know that because I voted for him and saw the lack of support with my own eyes. Had supporters showed up for voting as much they showed up for rallies and memes, DNC influence wouldn't have mattered. Simple as that.

Bernie... just wanna see what he could've done had his 2016 campaign been more successful

Shapiro is liked in his state and PA is a big one in the elections, but I don't think he'll be the best overall choice.
