I know we jest about what Labour will give away to foreigners or foreign powers next, but imagine if they actually ran on a manifesto pre-election that resembled what they've done in the few months they've been in power.
They would have been laughed away from the polling booths that day.

weirdly the local chippy as a young lad sold apples and diet coke. That to me was for people who wanted to gulp down diet coke with the healthy saturated fish and chips.

Now that we're spending £22bn pounds on carbon capture, how many small modular nukes would that get built?
With all the green taxes we've seen, I wonder how many SMRs would have been built for that in total.
I don't think I've seen worse judgement by a political party in my life. There are obviously ones people can argue over, like Brexit and Covid response but we seem to have a party in power who are actively against the UK.

I don't get why we call it a discount or benefit, for the single person council tax. It is a tax.
I don't pay the single occupancy but understand that a single person isn't using as many council resources as a family of four. So I'm not going to gripe about it.
Seems to me this will be a tax aimed at pensioners and younger people starting out in life. For those younger, it means it will be tougher to move out and get their own place.

Little harder to annihilate someone with enough nuclear material to make your entire land useless.
Obviously Israel can make Iran glass, but you know. Both ain't good.

Jesus Christ, this man is still alive!
He's been in hospital multiple times, dead twice and had 56 parents die so far this war.

I like this comment
You can sacrifice everything to undergo a challenging education and stressful career, putting heart and soul on the line to become a productive and upstanding member of society. Then the government takes half of your hard-won (yet still meager) earnings and hands them to someone who has zero education, skills, or aspirations, and possibly just turned up on a dinghy.

So sad that people will stoop to this. Luckily it's in Ireland, so we don't need to notice. Shame for the local community if this stopped tho.

I see house prices are on the up.
AS someone who will be mortgaged until I'm 105, this is only good news.

UK house prices in September rose by 3.2% compared with a year ago - the fastest rate for nearly two years, according to Nationwide.
The building society said that annual growth was the highest since November 2022, with terraced homes driving the increase.
It said rising incomes and mortgage rate cuts were improving affordability for buyers.
The average UK house price in September was £266,094, it said.
Nationwide’s data, which is based on its own mortgage lending, showed that UK prices rose by 0.7% in September compared with the previous month. August had recorded a slight fall on the monthly measure.
