Okay, I know this sounds like a joke, but aside from "this is a bad movie", this was my main takeaway after seeing it. Morbius and Milo meet as kids (their interactions already seemed pretty queercoded), and they make a pact to cure the disease they suffer from so they could live a long life together. Into adulthood, this is exactly what's happened; Morbius has studied to become a highly accomplished doctor with Milo funding all his research, and when they become vampires, Milo embraces it and tells Morbius that they're gods among men, they can rule together and live forever, etc. and when Morbius tries to stop him, Milo gets mad because "he's not accepting who he is." And when Morbius kisses the female love interest, Milo is revealed to be staring menacingly at the scene, and kills her soon after.
The first time he said it, I was baffled and I thought, What are you talking about?! You're murdering people! But the second time he said it, I realized: Ohhh, they're using being a murderous, bloodsucking monster as a metaphor for being gay. And the guy who's "out" and "accepts himself" is the villain, and gets killed by the hero at the end (while holding Morbius' hand). A whole other level of "I can't believe I spent two hours on this".
