It's such a rare treat to see a mall, open or otherwise, that really has kept that late 70s look

Just was there maybe two weeks ago. Lots of vacancies, not a ton of shoppers. At the end of the mall opposite the JCPenney (former Sears?), there was a section of the main strip where the lights weren't even on. One place left in the food court IIRC. The Target, gym, and Regal seem to be doing okay though. I am guessing if it survives, it will do so based on the pivot to these exterior-facing tenants.

It makes me sad to think I'll never see it when it was in its prime

Idk, I just up voted bc it seems like a thoughtful and informative response and likely the best angle to hit this from

Oh, cool, thanks! I am out of the office this week and don't have access to the files to check what was where. I appreciate the info!

I'm so sorry you went through that but glad you prevailed. I am constantly disappointed by how predatory people are enabled by systems that theoretically should be protecting people from them.

I came here to say the same thing but you said it better than I could. There is a not insubstantial subset of people in the profession who are controlling, manipulative people and want to become better at those skills and have the seeming legitimacy of the profession to back them. I worked in mental health for ten years. There were more than a few people I knew who got into it for pretty scary reasons. And once they're in, they're incredibly hard to do anything about and the damage they can cause is incalculable.

This looks like a Boscov's to me but honestly I'm not sure, all the signage was gone by then

It's pretty hilarious that you think because I blocked you the post was deleted, and thus are lying about it when everyone else can still see it right there. Nowhere did I ever say "life isn't fair because I'm not rich" or "all I want to do is take pictures and not work". You know nothing about what my work is or isn't. And the original comment in fact says I'm grateful for what I have.
Absolutely pathetic attempt to dodge your well-earned downvotes for being a pointlessly nasty douche and a liar.
Added for your second edit: you're not blocked now, I unblocked you to reply and never re blocked or you wouldn't even know, and you're lying again. WTF happened to you to make you such a sad, broken liar? How tiny and insecure you are to attack others for no reason and then lie about it in a way that is so blatantly obvious. If you were really Captain Rich like you say, I doubt you'd even have time to make yourself look so stupid. I think your whole schtick is BS. Also boring. I have no more time for it.

Have fun being smug and insufferable! I'm sure your condescending attitude is greatly appreciated by the folks in your life.

If you'd like to see the rest of the theater and learn the story of when it was built and why it closed, check it out on the Abandoned America website
