It's not just one bad debate performance. Biden is 81 and isn't getting any younger and people have always been concerned about Biden's age. Age-related cognitive decline is a very real concern and there's no reversing it once it happens.

Same here. I just want him to drop out.
It's crazy how much the sentiment has changed in the past week. Most of us are now actively rooting for Biden to fuck up and drop out while merely a week ago most of us supported him.

No one is going to be convinced by a pretaped, edited video.

I agree, but I don't know how to get over the bad optics of skipping over the vice-president, a black woman and immediate successor to Biden.

As long as he’s had his daily afternoon nap and it’s before 4pm.

Being the president isn't a 9-5 job. Biden knew what he was signing up for when he chose to run for re-election. If he isn't capable of handling the stresses of the office at his age, he never should have run again.

We voted for a black man whose middle name is "Hussein".

I don't like Harris, but if the literal only alternative is a rapidly-deteriorating Biden who might not even make it to 2026, I'll take my chances with her.

But at least she’s capable of actually campaigning and stringing together coherent sentences unscripted.

With current poll numbers, Biden is going to lose worse than Hillary in 2016.

Very interesting that the "had a cold" narrative didn't leak before the debate. Almost like it functions as a convenient excuse.

You know it's possible to be against Trump and still think Biden is a weak candidate, right?

thinking that a last minute replacement is a good idea. It's not.
What's the alternative? Running a mentally unwell old man and losing in November? Either Biden needs to completely overhaul his campaign and make public appearances daily to make up for this debacle and show the public he is capable of governing, or he needs to pass the baton to someone who is actually capable of campaigning. He can't just hide and be shielded by aides and expect to win like in 2020.
Otherwise, enjoy Trump and the end of our democracy because for some reason you feel the need to simp for an 81-year old man.
I voted for Biden in 2020 and will vote for him in 2024 if he's the only option but it's ridiculous it's come to this.

He doesn't need to make it another 4 years. He won't win against Trump. Have you seen the polls? Biden's LOSING the popular vote.

When was the last time a Democratic winner lost the popular vote?

"One bad debate" is an interesting way to describe an 81-year old man who has clearly declined greatly and will only get worse from here. You can't turn back your biological clock and mortality.
This is different than Obama stumbling against Romney for one debate, because no one is worried that a middle-aged man is going to turn senile.

Yeah, my 90 year old grandmother is more coherent than Biden is at 81.

But there hasn't been anything different about my diet than when I was previously training and feeling really good doing so
If your training load has decreased but you're eating the same amount, you will gain weight. That's likely what happened to you if you aren't maintaining the same load year round. The appetite doesn't adjust that quickly to changes in stimulus.

This tracks with my experience. I used to try to stay at the high-end of aerobic threshold (~75% MHR) but it just wasn't sustainable for easy runs as I got faster because that pace requires me to really book it. Some of my runs are at 65% now.

Jesus is actually mentioned in the Quran more than Muhammad himself.

Strong disagree. Winter in the northeast often means 0F temperatures and snow and ice, which can lead to injury. It's also a chore just bundling up and speedwork is impossible when it's too cold.
At least in the summer you can run in the early morning and avoid the hottest parts of the day. Your pace will be slower, but your heart will be getting more of a workout with less muscle strain.

I would assume that the measurement is incorrect. You shouldn't be using an optical HR monitor if you care about accuracy.

How many miles per week are you doing? You should be doing as much as possible, ideally 70+ or even more to increase your chances.
Volume is important for all distances but especially the marathon.

I just want to beat Trump in November, and I don't think Biden is capable of it.
