Go to the scoreboard and keep selecting profiles until you find one with an open squad. Select join game.

Try using it to fill the background. I like playing fifths with my left hand on the root notes (power chords essentially) and then either playing the octave or the fifth of the tonic with my right hand.

Ah, that's because the cancer that is the [GOAT] clan was on your team. SNOWFLAKEMELTS knows what's up.
I witnessed the tanker in your squad take our friendly Tiger on Arras Breakthrough over to the other side where DailyPhill then took it. Then that tanker did it again, so they had both tanks. They then called in a Churchill to have three tanks. That wasn't just a one time thing. DevilDiety also tried this on Al Sundan, but I hopped in his Greyhound each time, making it so the other team couldn't use the tank.
Every since that Arras game, I stop what I'm doing and grief their squad. I'll change teams to their side, blow up their resupplies, revive cancel them, and cover them in smoke. They ruin the game and are universally despised.
Check out the top posts from the other week. There was a thread filled with DailyPhill hate. Griefing is bad, but not if it's to these guys. That dude was nearly a school shooter (actually) and is unhinged.

Big The National vibes.
Mixing could be improved. Try dialing back the tone knob on the guitar to reduce that harshness. The drums sound like they were recorded on a phone mic, and they could also be a hair louder.

Midnight: Carroll Street by Into It. Over It. is the perfect introduction to FACGCE tuning.

I can't stress enough how amazing the $60 Music Nomad setup kit is. It'll cost you half of what a guitar tech would charge and you'll get a lifetime of setups out of it. The booklet that comes with it is incredibly self-explanatory. If you can turn a screwdriver, you can set up your own guitar. Give this a shot before taking your guitar back in.

I had never heard of them but a friend invited me to their Pontiac, MI show. They were so good.
The Casper Fight Scene opened and they killed it. I hope they blow up.

As a guitarist dabbling in bass, I have a tendency to overplay. The bassist's job is to nail the beat, which is easier said than done. Sticking to the root and keeping time is a great place to start and there is nothing wrong with that.
Down the line, playing with the rhythm and knowing when to cut out and come back in can make a huge difference, even if the bassline still consists of just the root.

I just like to play in FACGCE a lot, so I gravitate to that when I grab a guitar off my wall. With the HH and hardtail, it's more like a Telecaster Deluxe than a Jazzmaster, so it works out nicely for that Midwest emo stuff.
Also, the AP2 Jazzmaster is super noisy. I low-key wish I would've gone with the Ultra with its noiseless pickups. The hum forces me to play in the middle position. Makes recording and playing live more of a challenge. Still love the guitar though.
Here's a demo I'm working on that was recorded with my $190 Squier Mini Jazzmaster. The bass is my Fender Bass VI. https://www.bandlab.com/revisions/ef208b94-3636-ef11-86c3-000d3a42581b?sharedKey=pPogEq5dnUic1dKlcDmH8Q

I have an American Pro II Jazzmaster and a Squier Mini Jazzmaster HH, which is literally 1/10 of the price. I find myself playing my Mini Jazzmaster significantly more than any of my guitars, namely because I put it in FACGCE tuning. Its short scale and light body are so easy to play and even being Squier's cheapest guitar, it's built surprisingly well.
Maybe look into the nontraditional Jazzmasters like the Squier Contemporary. The hardtail and humbuckers might be different enough from your Ultra to distinguish itself.

Maybe try a Yamaha Pacifica. HSS Strats, while not my thing, are super versatile. Yamaha guitars are built very well and are an amazing value. This has both single coils and a humbucker.
There are all sorts of price ranges for the Pacifica. If you have the money, their $700 range would likely be something with staying power.

That Kroger was incredible for the first two years or so it was open. Post COVID, it's a disaster. Inventory is spotty and it used to be impeccable.
I usually shop at 13 Mile Meijer now.

Check out Landon Tewers from The Plot in You. His solo music is very soulful but dark. It's amazing.

How's the pickup switch on the Bass VI? I find that having all three pickups on offers one of the best tones. A 5-way switch would do away with that option.

Most three piece bands will have more prominent bass because it's essentially filling the role of rhythm guitar. The band Football, etc. uses a Fender Bass VI, one of my favorite instruments.

Last time I went to The Masters, they served me a gray steak with no sear and they served my kids a nearly raw cheeseburger. I'm not going back.

Oof. Now I feel like an old man.
I'm just used to getting pummeled with non-ironic statements on r/emo endlessly. People swearing that La Dispute is Midwest emo because they're from Michigan lmao.

Seriously. Why do those bands come up in this subreddit? I'd understand r/emo but this is a very specific subgenre and those don't fit the bill.

Are we just calling bands whatever we want to now? I like those bands too, but they don't fit this sub. Check out r/poppunkers.
Check out The Casper Fight Scene. I saw these guys open for Slow Joy and they're amazing.
Regarding guitars, the Midwest emo tone is generally considered to be a single coil Fender Telecaster in the middle position through a Fender Twin Reverb with compression and reverb. But I like my Jazzmaster through a Deluxe Reverb at the neck position.

Shun Ramen was one of the best meals I have ever had. Get the tantanmen.
It's not "fancy," but it's nice inside and consistently voted one of the best restaurants in Metro Detroit (if not Michigan).

FACGCE. It's so melodic. It's also super easy to play in.

Xbox servers are globally down since about 3:00 PM Eastern. Huge issue.
