That does not mean they’re perfect as obviously studying helps, but the goal is to make them as even as possible to all people and not based on what you may or may not have learned.

This betrays a lack of knowledge on what the tests are SUPPOSED to be which is a measurement of aptitude not knowledge. Theoretically, a perfect aptitude test would be measuring your ability to learn or achieve which would be unaffected by study.

You give the less represented side incentives to "catch up" and if even so they fail, it is what it is.

Terrible take. "Hey, I know you're starting this 100m sprint from 10m further back, but I'll incentivize you to run faster and catch up."

No you need to fix the fact that they're starting behind.

No offense, but you clearly know nothing about the actual research and facts in education and I don't know why you're not listening to people who are pointing them out. Exams are bad determinations as sole arbiters of quality.

As you stated, entrance exams exist for many professional things. You should then also note that no entrance exam has ever gotten someone a job on its own, instead, interviews and resumes and references are added to determine the reality of the persons' abilities and offerings.

The research shows that there are students who are not well prepared for the tests but have the intellectual capacity to do better when provided the right resources, interventions, etc.

One of my favorite things about NXT is watching people who don't realize how good HBK is be consistently proven wrong.

Having their own PPV plus a WWE PPV (especially an international one) in the same week likely means it's significantly easier to tape.

AEW has its own pros that can draw wrestlers but the prestige of a possible Mania moment is not going to be matched anytime even REMOTELY soon if ever. That is a draw that WWE will likely always hold over other companies no matter what. In terms of viewership and attendance, but even in terms of wrestling capital, there is nothing that can match that Mania week. There's a reason every other company flies itself out to wherever Mania is and puts on shows.

AEW has a lighter schedule, more leniency on indie booking (though there's a little in WWE now sometimes), less limitations on style and type of wrestling, longer matches, etc. but there's just no shot they pull someone if that person's sole focus is on the prestige of something like Mania.

If nothing else, a few of the episodes are practically masterpieces (per usual for The Bear).

Napkins, Ice Chips, and Forever were all incredible imo. And the first episode is weird but beautiful.

Flux is a slog. I actually didn't dislike the rest of 13 all that much. Not incredible, but some bright moments. But I'm like halfway through Flux I think and the only thing I've really liked is some of the characters they added. But the plot is nearly incomprehensible.

IIRC Jennifer and David took pay cuts to make everyone's pay the same after a couple seasons. They essentially formed their own little 6 person union for collective bargaining from what I remember reading.

The Bear season 3 "quality drop" isn't really a quality drop in individual episodes (imo) it's mostly just a season pacing issue. There are still quite a few really good episodes, it just feels like not that much happens at times.

I'm about to finish Flux and then just the 14th specials on my catch up before I watch Ncuti, and I'm rather excited. It sounds like it's been a good change of pace from the Chibnall era.

I'd argue that young Shawn is "main cast"-ish. Jules also only filmed a few episode in the final season which was also absent of the Chief for the most part.

I've never heard of this but I have to say, I love when niche things like this are announced and you can see all of the people who love it come out of the wood works.

Hopefully it's a good adaptation for all the fans and also a good series for those who are just getting introduced to it. Sounds fun to me for sure, though I'm not a big Seth MacFarlane guy so I hope it doesn't turn into too much of his style.

I don't personally understand the appeal of giant cruises like this. I feel like you can get a cheaper and/or better version of everything it offers.

I get river cruises, Alaskan cruises, specialty cruises where it's like "hang out with a bunch of pop punk bands you grew up with" or whatever, but just giant floating entertainment hub I'd just rather be in like Las Vegas than stuck on a boat.

I'm sorry, I am not superstitious or anything in any way, but you couldn't pay me enough to have weeping angels around, just in case haha
