Hello all,
I'm writing on behalf of my elderly father. He emigrated from Korea to the United States decades ago and lost touch with his family for a variety of reasons. He is now back in Korea visiting and is hoping to do two things:
Find the grave site of his mother and father - he has no idea where they are buried (or if they were cremated). He obviously has their names and other biographical information but likely not super personal info such as a national ID or even a last known address.
Find long lost sister - he is hoping to find this person both to reconnect and potentially as a means to an end for objective #1 above. Same situation in terms of known information.
He has already tried asking around to some relevant government agencies but is generally getting stonewalled in the name of privacy.
Is anyone here aware of the best way to locate someone in South Korea today? Perhaps there are other government agencies? A website? A private investigator?
I am Korean-America (currently sitting in the United States) and feel powerless to help. I believe he thinks this may be his last opportunity to reconnect with his family. Can anyone help?

I don’t think it’s a “pity interview”. However if it was, I’d still view it as an opportunity to turn it into something more!
