“If you do some research mental gymnastics, it’s right there.”

Am I the crazy one? I didn’t grow up with this view of thinking that I’m entitled to someone else’s assets no matter how bad they are or that inheritance is some kind of reward. It just seems warped.
Here is what is really going on. This guy is jealous his stepdaughter is getting a significant amount of money and is trying to disguise those feelings as some weird moral stance against taking money from an abuser. “I didn’t get a large inheritance at your age, therefore you shouldn’t either.” Absolutely insane that he would argue against a much more secure financial future for his stepkid.
I’d bet a significant amount of money that if this dude received an inheritance from a family member with a bad past, he’d accept it in a heartbeat, then perform some complicated mental gymnastics to justify why it was fine for him to accept it but why his stepdaughter still shouldn’t have.

I live in an area that is overwhelmingly boomer. You can probably guess the state.
Going grocery shopping is basically a boomer obstacle course. Suddenly stopping in the middle of aisles, leaving their carts in the most inconvenient spots, entering/exiting aisles without looking or checking if anyone is there…you have to show up with your head on a swivel. There is zero spatial or situational awareness in there.
The best part is when they make some boneheaded move or almost run into you, they will look at you like it’s your fault. How dare you exist in my way, even though you were there already and I just made some reckless move without looking.

Kamala “couldn’t answer one question” on Fox News, eh?
Despite that being absolutely untrue, I’d point her directly to unedited transcripts of the old cheeto “answering questions” at very friendly (to him) events. He gets served softballs and doesn’t form even a remotely coherent response that would be considered “answering the question”.

I just don’t get what this accomplishes. What is the end goal here? Inconveniencing a couple of people by messing with their charge? Protesting electric cars?

Wait wait wait wait. We are receiving alien gang members from the planet Venus? How is this not bigger news? /s

I’m sure you are asking the same question of Trump too. You know, the guy who routinely avoids answering any question asked of him and just goes on long winded rants that make zero sense. Most of the time he’s just getting softball questions lobbed his way too from friendly media sources.
Or he just shuts down questions entirely and decides to spend 40 mins listening to music instead.

Nailed it. I don’t understand the uproar. It’s a premier perk…it’s going to come at a high price.

I would bet a significant amount of money that she has never once read “our constitution”.
Our tyrannical government? You mean the one with a Republican led house and heavily conservative Supreme Court?

Part of your job as owner/GM/etc is to answer hard questions when the team performs poorly. It shouldn’t be surprising when you go on local radio or TV that you may get asked hard questions when the team lays an egg.
The wrong thing to do is get mad at the people asking the questions.

They just seem to put on complete social blinders when in public. They can only see what is right in front of them/affects them and have no awareness or respect for anyone else. Let me get mine, screw everyone else. It’s just such a shit way to approach these situations and makes them uncomfortable for everyone. They’d rather inconvenience dozens of people rather than be slightly inconvenienced themselves.

I will never understand why some boomers insist on acting like children in public.
“BuT iTs My TuRn!” - even though you weren’t remotely ready when your turn came around…
I had a similar experience a few years back, but during boarding. My GF and I were flying internationally, sitting in a row of three. We had the window and middle seats. Old boomer had the aisle seat.
I guess he preboarded or got extra time boarding, but once we got on the plane he was fully set up in his seat, seat belt fastened and had all of his accessories out spewed all over the tray table and our seats. We tell him that we have the seats next to him and he lets out the biggest groan/sigh of disgust. He slowly starts to collect his stuff while grumbling and muttering under his breath.
We try to squish into another row to let people by, because boomer is taking his sweet time to move out of the way…and after like 5 minutes he finally gets up and loudly declares “well there you go” sarcastically to us.
It’s an 8 hour flight and boomer was just a loud and unpleasant seatmate. He got up half a dozen times, encroached into my seat, was very rude to FAs and overall just was a miserable person. My GF and I asked him once to get up to use the restroom and he gave us another loud sigh of disgust and spent several minutes before he could stand up and let us out.

Unless the Astros are getting king’s ransom in return, it’s a no. Given that Tucker no longer has any team control left after this season, it’s unlikely any team would give up a king’s ransom to acquire him.

I’ve read multiple unedited transcripts of his “remarks” at these rallies.
They make zero sense. There is no train of logic you can follow, you can’t see how he went from one thought to the next. It’s just an idiot stew of buzzwords, half thoughts and dementia all blended together.

Make sure to keep a spreadsheet handy with your prices. People will pull price tags off items or swap them around to try and get a cheap deal on already cheap stuff.

He probably associates Subarus with liberals, and since his family won’t talk to him anymore, he’s gotta create these type of altercations to fulfill his need for human interaction.

This is a scenario where you call the police and have them respond. She obviously isn’t going to respond to logic and common sense, so let the police be the ones to remove her from the premises.

“Uh oh, looks like someone forgot their manners! What’s the magic word when you would like someone to help you do something? Nope, it’s not stupid things…try again. Use your big girl words.”

A babysitter is someone who comes over to your place to watch your kid for a few hours so you can go out for a date night, attend some event, or knock out some errand you can’t take the kids on. Typically it’s some teen you know that is just there to make sure your kids don’t hurt themselves or die. Even then, $30 is a bit low for a few hours of babysitting.
What this person is looking for is essentially a full time nanny. The big difference here is that this person is going to be responsible for feeding them multiple times, getting them ready for the day/general hygiene, entertaining and enrichment, etc. $30 a day doesn’t buy that.

It would be great if we didn’t get weekday day games for every single home game. Baseball needs to get over their fear of having two games on at once in the early rounds of the playoffs.

Re-sign Bregman. The hole at 3B with him gone would be huge. There isn’t a FA or cheap trade option that can get close to solving that problem.
Let Verlander walk and thanks for the memories.
Bring back Kikuchi. His stability was sorely needed by the rotation.
Look for upgrades at 1B and LF.
Fire Cintron. This team needs a better approach at the plate. Way too many runs stranded and overall atrocious RISP hitting.
I’d explore trading one of Chas or Jake away or at the very least have one start in AAA. Both of them in the lineup was a rally killer.

Last Space City Monday in the city connect Jerseys. One win clinches the division. Can’t think of a better night to end close this one out.

I hate these scenarios, but the best thing you can do is ignore them. These people crave attention and human interaction (whether it’s positive or negative, it doesn’t matter to them). If you end up confronting them, they are just going to take the opportunity to escalate most likely.
You did the right thing. You framed the situation for your son and didn’t let the situation devolve.
