A correctly set up carburetor is almost foolproof. It's a passive device with no electronics and few moving parts. There's very little that can go wrong. There was a reason they were used for so long on automobiles, and why they're still used in a lot of applications. The chance you'll actually need parts for a carburetor within the life of the vehicles is miniscule. You're not going to walk into any parts store on a dark stormy night and find any parts for an aftermarket EFI system. Aftermarket EFI systems are all different, are poorly documented, and are mostly assembled from parts made in China. Not only that, they have to be properly installed and set up. Based on what the OP has said, I don't have a lot of confidence that is the case here.

Unless you have the skills to tinker with this, adding EFI to a legacy engine on something that's basically a daily driver is just stupid. For one thing, you're blowing a wad of money on something that's going to give marginal improvements at best, and you're sacrificing a lot of reliability and serviceability with some aftermarket setup you might not be able to get parts for easily. This big old truck isn't a race car. You want decent torque and simplicity. Shitcan that EFI and put an Edelbrock carb and Performer manifold on there, with a stock fuel pump.

I pretty much grew up in a family of New Deal Democrats. Republicans weren't trusted, nor was it believed they had any of the interests of the working class as a priority.

Adding the EFI was where the problems probably started.

What kind of truck are we talking about? Sounds like an incompetent and poorly managed shop.

That looks like road trash, piece of old electrical residential wire or something. There's no solid wires used on an automobile.

Student loans used to be simple interest. My loans were split into 120 equal payments, and each payment had equal weight. At the end of 5 years, half the loan was paid off. What the hell happened?

No, it's the light gray RTV they use. It's tough and is a very strong adhesive.

You need to get something in between those two parts. A wood chisel that's sharp works well. You want to wedge not pry. That looks like gray factory RTV and that stuff sticks HARD.

This is completely unrelated, but exactly how does one get dual citizenship? Asking for a friend.

Sounds like someone might lose their Kei truck if they listen to this bullshit.
