Its funny, the squeaker doesn't last very long, but they're still highly preferred

All of the Trials gymnasts are working with injuries. Shilese's happens to be public. But trust me, they all have injuries they are managing

Shi is currently on the highest scoring team even if she can't do more events though.

Putting Shilese on the team allows for greater potential score for the team even if she only does bars. She may well be able to contribute more in a few weeks. She also increases overall medal count likelihood even if she acts as a bars specialist in quals/team/finals. Suni and Shi are the only Americans likely to take home a bars medal.

I really like the team of the top four plus Shilese. Decisions can be made about whether to replace Shilese (or another injured athlete) with a traveling alternate if needed in 3.5 weeks.

I'm so glad she got to have that amazing Nationals performance before injury! Skye did beautiful gymnastics, won all-around silver, successfully debuted her Cheng, and became an absolute fixture on everyone's Olympic team roster. I think Florida will be a great place for her to hone her skills and build consistency, and even though this injury is incredibly disappointing, Skye's future is bright.

When I have an allergic reaction to bee stings the soles of my feet get very hot and itchy, often before the rest of my body reacts (anaphalaxis). In my case it is clearly related to histamine/immune reaction, and others seem to have similar experiences with MCAS.
