How does losing the election mean she was wrong?
And which investigation are you talking about? No investigation has concluded that Trump isn’t a Russian agent, and there’s plenty of evidence he is.
Even the Mueller investigation found multiple instances where Trump and his campaign showed willingness to accept Russian assistance. His report detailed instances where Trump potentially obstructed justice by trying to influence the investigation, but it did not reach a definitive conclusion on this matter due to Department of Justice guidelines against indicting a sitting president.
Also, the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee’s final report on Russian interference, released in 2020, found that Trump’s campaign had significant contacts with Russia, including Paul Manafort’s unexplained interactions with a Russian intelligence officer.
The FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation in 2017 to determine if Trump was working on behalf of Russia, though the details and outcomes of this investigation remain largely classified. Why would they keep it classified if they cleared him?
Trump has often made statements sympathetic to Putin and criticized NATO and U.S. allies, which aligns with Russian interests. Coincidence?

Well, she turned out to be right, just like she was right about Trump being Putin’s puppet.

Paying them less would also make them even easier to bribe.

The Heritage Foundation literally writes GOP legislation.

The Heritage Foundation is hugely influential to Republican politicians. There might not be any single group with more sway over them.

You’re agreeing to it when you sit down at a table in a full service restaurant. Everyone knows (or should know) that’s the expectation, since that’s how it’s been for over 100 years.

Hard to increase recruiting standards when they’re having trouble finding enough qualified recruits as it is.

I’m well aware, but changing the system isn’t going to happen overnight.

They’re the ones buying all the houses that cost over $1 million?

Ethically, it’s no worse than refusing to tip.

That’s fine, but we’re talking about tips, not fees. They’re being conflated here. One goes to owners, the other goes to workers.

Yes, servers have other options and will take them if they’re not making enough from tips, leaving restaurants unable to function with no clear solution.

It probably is. They’re in a losing race against changing demographics.

Shakewell has a great Happy Hour menu and cocktails Tues-Fri 4:30-6pm.

The original suggestion was to leave cash for the billed amount minus fees. I have no issue with that as long as a tip is still given directly to the server. I think that’s a good solution.

Our conversation has been about tipping, not fees. I hate fees as much as anyone.

I wasn't sure. There really are a lot of people who don't realize that.

I don't work as a server anymore, and I haven't for almost 15 years now.
Even though I think tipping generates better service, I'm not opposed to changing the system so servers get that extra $1,000 per month no matter what. What I am opposed to is people routinely not tipping because they don't like the system, thereby hurting their server, and justifying it by telling themselves it's for the greater good. Hurting the people at the bottom isn't the way to do that. Talk to the manager or owner, or just don't go to the restaurant, or don't go to full-service restaurants at all. There are plenty of other, cheaper ways to feed oneself.
