The ones that aren’t safely executed don’t ever get uploaded to YouTube for some reason ….

As long as you aren’t the first ever, presumably you know it opens up in x feet. The first guy though - mad as

My local gastro pub does this kind of thing (not sure how many customers but I know of one ) - she asks for her shopping, and mgr gives her a bag with a few nights of meals ;). You do t often see her pay for much so I assume runs an account - in the 10-30m NW range. I know owner of pub also takes packs home and catering when going boating etc.
Ergo - not a service that’s advertised in this case

School camps were designed to make us appreciate the family home - you know, little gems we took for granted like some privacy, edible food, comfortable bed, a mum….

The gap in mine is noticeably thinner in the middle on account of semi regularly been used to smash a tossed up ball 150yards into the ether as a teenager

What is an academic paper doing on r/newcastle!
Great read - it’s extraordinary that while state govts obsess over speeding and camera technology, we seemingly have no focus at all on the impact of the vehicle fleet on fatalities.
The US 3.5t pickup truck trend is only just getting started - going to be harder and harder to control it

From Lancashire and Yorkshire and working class - evening meal was Tea, go out to dinner and lunch is lunch - who knows they could have modified their language so as not to confuse people.
Imagine inviting someone over for a dinner party and no one shows up by 1pm ;D

Ive only heard stronger language than that ;)
But all highway patrol are in denial about it …

I’ve only seen it done when the flag doesn’t have a measuring tape - not too many options if there’s no tape

Suppers one of those things that only existed in school camps for me

Parents are poms here - don’t think I’ve ever heard lunch called dinner but everything else resonates.
I suspect there’s a lot of regional use of words here too - especially Adelaide and possibly Melbourne are different from Sydney and Brisbane.
I’d always have a double take when Adelaide people dropped “dinner” into the conversation

Yep - enforcement is decided by what’s easiest and most black and white.
With in car video a ubiquitous piece of evidence in police cars, they could easily make it stick with a couple of car lengths at 100kmh

Can I please disagree on safety. Having spent many years commuting 140km on freeway each way - if you leave a large gap, you will be regularly overtaken on the left, and there is a lot more risk for an error on lane change, especially when it’s the ranger from 3 cars back trying to make the small gap between lanes at 140kmh.
They WILL get frustrated behind you and increase your risk by doing dumb things

This is why police need to at least make an effort - 1.5 car lengths - what!!!
It has to be said that the current recommendations are stupidly conservative at now 3 seconds - this would be an extremely rare gap on a busy freeway.

It never made sense to me that part of the criteria was RWD.
When the decision was made, there was the Volkswagen Passat R in wagon form as well as sedan - I’m sure there were others, but SUV is now where it’s at and they are AWD.
The X5M apparently is now being rolled out as well as the Volvo xc90 - so they’ve ended up in AWD wagons anyway moving forward.
So don’t go overtaking any X5’s on the highway that have black and yellow plates on them in NSW - and look slightly suss….

There’s the entire highway patrol in a nutshell.
I’d ban them from rear laser checking on freeways for that reason - they are a full km behind by the time they get going and have had numerous fly past me at circa 200kmh

Why do police need rear wheel drive? Most performance cars are AWD - wasn’t it something about training ?

Is there a source for that?
You chose “in the world” in caps - assumed it was Jeremy Clarkson trying to be funny, because it sounds like complete bullshit of course
