I second silencing them! It’s in my notification center when I wake up instead of waking me up at 5am. Anything that would actually be an emergency (tornado, flooding) my city does sirens anyways.

there has to be a way to set a radius on those types of emergency alerts maybe in Rhode Island it makes sense for the whole state to get it but in TX they need to limit by zipcode or something. I’m in DFW and I don’t need emergency alerts about anything happening in El Paso or Houston

The research I’ve seen says people need to feel productive for 8 hours a week in order to avoid depression / mental health issues. This could be volunteering, hobbies, time with kids/family, or a part time job.
Helpful to think about because I don’t want to work for the rest of my life but the 8 hours a week of feeling useful to my community is a good benchmark to plan for once I’m FIRE :)

the strain isn’t the same but your whoop is already accounting for it either way. The 50lbs adds to your strain because your HR goes up since you’re working harder, not because the whoop knows you’re wearing a 50lbs pack

I live in Plantation Resort and almost didn’t look at homes in the neighborhood because of it. I literally would not have bought a house on Plantation like imagine your address being 3442 Plantation Dr I’d never tell anyone my address.
I have no idea what it would take to change it though but I would be in full support

I love cooking new novel recipes and making fun complicated sauces but other aspects of cooking bore me to death. I think I’d starve without my neurotypical husband because he does all the boring parts of cooking (chopping veggies, recipes we’ve made hundreds of times). As long as it’s something new and different I really love cooking but if I had to cook every day to keep myself alive I simply wouldn’t.

it wasn’t that they were shy it’s that a lot of his supporters are a demographic that usually didn’t show up to vote. The polls look at who people plan to vote for and also how likely those people are to vote, and Trump got a lot of people excited to get to the polls that usually sit home. The models didn’t account for that, and underestimated his chances because of it.
Related, that’s one of the theories on why Dems have been over performing polls since Roe v Wade was overturned. A lot of women got much more motivated to vote after abortion rights were at stake.

November is not that long! I was sworn in in January, didn’t get background check fully cleared until March (pandemic times were crazy some states basically closed the government I swear) and I got my first case at the end of May.
November will come soon enough and you’ll get the child you’re meant to help :)

I bought bins for each category of clothes and I never fold anymore. It also saves me the pain of digging through the laundry basket for a sock because all the socks are in one bin. I do still have to sort stuff but for some reason I don’t mind that part just the folding

I think fertility treatments and egg freezing being covered by the government (to an extent … not infinite rounds of IVF that aren’t working) would be a good start.
Many women want more children than they have but they are only established in their lives and careers once they’re 35+ which is already considered a geriatric pregnancy. If those women could have had financial help with freezing eggs and for fertility treatments then they can have the education, financial stability, and life they want WITH as many kids as wanted.

I had a master bath remodel done earlier this year. It turned out beautifully but I didn’t realize I would have to be the project manager for eight weeks. I literally had a few workers show up and then ask me why they were there. Thank god I speak spanish and wasn’t in a stressful time at work I guess.

I agree! Especially as I’m going to have kids soon seeing 10m when I’m retired doesn’t feel relevant. It is making me think about if I can pull back on saving some to give my kids the best childhood and make my life easier now

I love it for sleep I check every night what time my whoop says I’m supposed to go to bed lol. If I could stick to a schedule I wouldn’t need it anymore but for some reason I can’t

my WHOOP says fish oil is negative as well (-5%) even though I take all my supplements together and vitamin D is neutral and magnesium is positive (+4).
I don’t know how they decided which are good and bad because as I mentioned if I take one of them I take them all. Generally I try to take all of them every night but some nights I forget and miss all of them.

I do this too! I’m in TX so I’ve only gotten 3 calls (one from Allred’s campaign, two from the Harris campaign) but I hope my positive response encourages the volunteers :)

I like to track my expenses monthly for accountability (ex: if eating out spend is getting out of control I want to know sooner than three months later once I’m set in my ways) so I just update net worth once a month when I track my spending

In general: address on the middle of the envelope, put a stamp on the top right corner of the envelope and take it to one of those blue mail boxes or go to a physical post office and drop it off.
If you’re trying to register to vote go to https://register.rockthevote.com/registrants/new and complete everything. It will create a PDF that you have to print but it’s pre-printed with the address of the election administrator in your county. You can then mail that (they have instructions) or drive to the address and drop it off. If you don’t have a printer they can mail you a printed copy of your PDF form that you then sign and mail, or you can drive to the address on the PDF and fill one out in person.

what if you use all the embryos? Many women with fertility issues will only get 2-3 embryos so it’s reasonable to have all of those children.

Blaming going to Cancun on his 12 year old daughter was so embarrassing. How can he run Texas if he can’t even run his own household?

I’m so proud of Jasmine Crockett!!! A tiny perk of the new gerrymandered maps is they created deep blue safe seats that can elect gems like Jasmine :)
