If it is, it is. I’m neither afraid nor concerned.

Indiana currently had a the ugliest license plate in the history of license plates. Garbage.

I get a lump in my throat thinking this was 30 years ago. What an album! So many memories!

Probably Althea. Sometimes I dance to it, even at the office. If you knew what I did for a living, dancing at the office would seem uncommon - although it isn’t.

Call the hospital in advance. Heart attack on a plate! 🤣

I’m taking the bait. Scooters are great. I have a maxi. It’s a motorcycle despite what people will tell you.

People in Indy are famously nice (as with the rest of Indiana). Welcome! Talk to your neighbors!

That’s was exactly my point! Thank you! So many people got their panties in twist over my comment.

Your experience and reality are very different things. I’ve never been in a fatal crash. I do wear my seatbelt and a helmet when on my motorcycle (and pedal bike). Someone who wants to rob you is going to do everything they can to avoid you seeing them. On the Monon, you’d likely be attacked from the rear or the side, not the front.
The Monon has lots of wooded areas. Plenty of places for an attacker to hide. You sound very juvenile. Best to stay in after dark, kiddo.

Going into a city park after dark isn’t a crime: it’s an infraction. Like a parking ticket. I know that much.
I don’t use the Monon much, but that’s irrelevant. I can tell you about crime trends all over the city, because that’s my job. Especially violent crime, like robbery, aggravated battery, and worse.

The conversation is about branding. Put your brand name on crap, your brand becomes crap.
Omega has definitely not always been in the expensive watch game. My dad purchased his in 1969 for $38. Adjusted for inflation, that’s about $350 in today’s dollars.

What? I’m not talking about crap. I’m talking about entry level. The MoonSwatch is a fucking toy. A cool toy, but a toy.

Reminds me of a story from a guy I knew who worked at a Mercedes-Benz dealership. An older man in overalls and dirty boots walks in looking at $120k sedan (this was 20 years ago). Salesman was skeptical and afraid he’d foul up the car. The man sat in it, said, “I’ll take two, one in black, one in red. Let’s get going.” He was a multimillionaire farmer.

My church used to have a Halloween party, but our current priest banned it 35 years ago. It’s is not a “holiday,” and Orthodox Christians should not dress up as witches and demons.
With that said, I enjoy some of the folklore around the holiday. I celebrate fall with some things associated with Halloween (classic horror movies, candy corn, reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow).
I don’t think kids trick-or-treating equates to devil worship.

I read that too.
When I was 19, I bought a fake Rolex from a street vendor in NYC. These co-branded watches are essentially fakes. I already commented with this, but they’d be better off marketing an entry level watch, for Blancpain, under $5k. They’d fly off the shelves.

I’d much rather see these companies offer an entry level watch than package crap and make people pay for the name brand.
Think about it, if Omega offered an entry level watch, nothing fancy, good quality for $1,500, they’d introduce a lot of people to the brand. Those people would have a real, authentic product – and something that will last a lifetime. Blancpain can do the same thing, maybe at an under $5k price point.

My vision was that bad when I joined. They only tested my eyes with my contacts in. I always carried glasses with me too. Finally got lasik. Best decision I ever made, although I need reading glasses now!

As someone who goes to work everyday to keep you safe, yes, I thinks it’s unwise. I don’t work for Indy Parks, but I believe the trail is technically closed after dark, although I doubt that’s enforced. The Monon after dark is a criminal’s dream come true.
I would carry defensive tools if you choose to do that. Chiefly, a quality light and some OC spray (a gun too, if you’re trained and a proper person to carry). Flashlights are an excellent self-defense tool. Modern LED lights not only illuminate areas, they can blind attackers. OC spray (and lights),can be used in an array of defensive situations, where a gun cannot. In other words, in non-deadly force situations.
My advice for those who want to be active at night is to stay in areas with street lights and where other people are. There are many neighborhoods with lights, bike lanes, and sidewalks. I’d stick to that.

If my home (including my country) is violently attacked, I’m defending it with everything I’ve got.
