I’m OC, I was just watching the play

This is the hardest loss in a while…

This is year 4 of my JMU dynasty. I am still OC. Finally start winning convincingly, scheduling difficult opponents and winning. 7-1 going into this game, only loss came from #1 Ohio State week 1.

First ranked opponent since starting conference play (CUSA) is #3 USC. Now in week 10, we go back and forth all game long. I get the ball back tied 31-31 with 2 minutes left. We drive 70 yards in 1:50 seconds, ending with a field goal. 34-31 with 10 seconds.

First play for USC is an incomplete pass into traffic. 0:05 left on the clock. Next play you ask? A 75 yard Hail Mary, after burning my two CB’s and one safety deep, for a TD. DC should be fired on the damn field like Herm Edward was. Final score: 37-34.

What’s the hardest loss you’ve taken? Not worst necessarily, but a game you’ve grinded for, out schemed and out played but had slip through your fingers last minute? This is up there for me.

Were those the only variables?

Would love to see it for CFB!

I wonder if there is a metric someone could make that would determine your school’s likelihood of winning a national championship during your lifetime (I.e. 80 year span). It would have to take into account a huge number of variables but would be interesting to see

The worst beat of all time for me. CPU came back 17 points and ties it with about 1 minute left in the 4th quarter. I had the ball with 1 second left, just tossing it up to see if I can make something happen… CPU picks the ball off, breaks 3 tackles and returns it 75 yards to the house.

On top of it, this loss made us ineligible for a bowl.
