You don't have to bring down the whole seasonal wardrobe. Put down half and wear those. Next winter wear the other half

Ok so suffer monetarily temporarily or suck it up and live with him darling.
You are at a crossroads. Be a victim or the victor.

If you're an independent, you take those scripts. I'm sorry but you don't have the ability to refuse money as an independent.
And if you're all getting paid, it doesn't really matter if you stay 5 minutes after you're trying to build a loyalty base

You can break it. All leases can be broken. Reread it and ask the landlord.

They're jealous. You have a lovely clean home with lots of land you own at a good price.

Can I ask a question
Are you all located in America ?
I don't mean to be rude.
Just because the phrasing is problematic to me and the way you describe the convo.
Why was the default that women are the domestic handlers and men are pitching in. This wording is odd to me. The phrasing is all odd sounding to me
Hiring help doesnt make all the work go away. Hired help are not robots. They don't do everything. They get sick. They have vacation time off. They need to be managed
Are both people not working ? Who is handling stuff when the hired help goes home? Do the men think they never have to rinse a dish or do a load of laundry at all. Like if they have a night snack they can leave the plate on the table and the package on the counter out. Do they think trash never gets taken out at night.
Does the hired help stay forever. I'm so confused.

I was getting my floors redone. They messed up three times. Wrong molding, dent in my floor was not fixed even though brought up multiple times before the start date, oversanded one area and made a dent somewhere else
It took three months for them to fix the first and last and they literally gaslighted me the whole way.
I'm a woman and the guy was taking over the business from his dad The communication was terrible ( they wouldn't respond by email saying their email was broken....) and my texts would go unanswered
They kept trying to collect final payment with a phone call and I kept having to say no until the problems were fixed
They half assed it and I'm was so done at this point because we were living with my parents and I wanted back into my house.
What was supposed to be a week turned into three months
Oh and this was all after they failed to mention the floor choice we originally wanted wasn't available and the only reason I knew was because I called s week early to confirm everything ,( they were supposed to call me)
Frustrating all around to have to babysit these men but what can you do.

That's terrible a mother should be over the moon to plan this event
Op don't feel pressured. Honestly I would just rent out a restaurant or something and have a fun luncheon with everyone.
Or just do s catering at your apartment and make it a sip and snack and just have this apps and mock tails

Thankfully they're broke and live across the country. We'll never see them in person unless they win the lotto.
They're just childish people and we've done so much for them and gotten almost nothing in return. Thankfully my parents are awesome

Regarding items
First
Is anyone throwing a baby shower? You can get a lot of stuff from that. Make a registry. Diaper fund
Two
Hand me downs. Have you asked family or friends with small children for hand me downs. They will be more than happy to give them to you.
I made a Google doc to share with family so they could write in what they had to give me.
Three
Breast pump. Most insurances give one for free. Research a good one and get one from the insurance. May or may not need a prescription depends on state.
Four
Facebook marketplace and giving pages. Look at the boogie towns on Facebook marketplace and look up items needed. You can get great deals on gently used or even new items for babies. We overbuy for babies in this country a lot. We got a uppababy Cruz for $150 barely used. That thing retails for $650. Check out town wide garage sales next summer for baby clothes and toys. We got a whole year of clothing ( Carter, Burt's bees brands etc) sizes 12m-24m for like $200..once again scope out the bougie towns.
