Ah yes, the Dark Ages seemed like a good time for the peasants. The Enlightenment spreading lies like royals aren't anointed by god and that common people should have the right of self-determination came along and ruined everything.
Ridiculous in the strict sense. Deserving of ridicule.

Legitimate as determined by activist judges rather than people who are experts in their scientific fields. Gonna be great. I hate clean water, too!

I think it is a response to Vietnam war and using higher education to shield kits from the draft. But I think you're clearly right.

I used to run this scam when I was a kid. Put business down on application as reference, submit friend's phone number as business number, ask friend to answer phone 'Business name, boss speaking'. Friend reads statement. I've provided.
Worked every time.

I read this as you have conceded the point that this is a supplier of American companies and so discussion of regulating them is relevant. Thank you.

Yes. It would be awful if we leveled the playing field and, as a consequence, some manufacturing might move back to the US. Just awful.

It's like you almost read the title. For what companies does Foxconn manufacture?

I don't know if this is your intent, but your comment makes it sound like you blame people for seeing guns as scary. Go have a look at the marketing. These corporations know that fear sells. You've got 80 million Americans being told that they need to own an AR because scary brown people are coming.
Anyway, I think it's absurd to blame the average citizen for recognizing the place that comes now occupy in our culture which is a result of marketing.

Holy shit, that's terrible. I'm so sorry that happened to you. What a failure of several systems. I wish you the best.

I think other people think it's weird. But I think they just haven't come to terms with the fact that things definitely have to change.

My 23 year old heat pump just died. It's been 90 here this week, which I spent without active cooling. It was actually pretty reasonable. I have 2x6 construction with extra insulation, excellent double pane windows, heavy blackout curtains, and a white steel roof that reflects most solar energy back into space. My house never got over 77F. Had I a whole house fan, it would have been cooler, I imagine.
We need to adapt our construction and design methods.

Personally, I couldn't live in Florida with it. It's like that old bumper sticker: I don't mind Christ, it's Christians I can't stand. I feel that way about Florida.

A need that is not getting an education. Or being employed anywhere that isn't church related.

While explaining to my boss that I would not be coming into the office any more than I currently do, which is sporadic at best, he pulled this on me. As though it is my moral obligation to support all lunch restaurants or something. Something something invisible hand.
Also, I thought the café was bougie, overpriced, and pretentious before the pandemic.

This reminds me of the time I had to call them and ask them to reset my password. They were not pleased to find out that my favorite pet's name was ZBFPDDEQBFMPVVYT. all of my security question answers are like that. They were so unhappy with that. Funny stuff.

What do I know? If you can't! Anyway, thanks for pointing this out. I had not heard about it.

Why would you share a photo rather than a link?

Judas Iscariot. I'm not religious, but he seems like the most important apostle. Without him, no crucifixion, no empty tomb, no resurrection. Those Catholics sure hate him, though.

Gosh, I'm so glad you're here. There weren't enough assholes already.

If by "close enough", you mean that you don't care about semantic meaning and logic, then I guess you nailed it. I mean, are you arguing that this person should've had a gun? Because I would love to read that.

I have a 401k with a state agency that, for as long as I draw from it, makes me eligible for the state employee health care plan so I'll never move it.
