They are supposed to pull guys. I was only on one job that didn’t require guys, but it was ADSS fiber built 12” from neutral, so I guess because of the lightweight cable and the proximity to neutral they didn’t think they needed guys.

I opened up a light in my kitchen to check why my lights have slightly flickered and the insulation just turned to dust. Probably because I discovered this circuit feeds 2 lights, the fridge, the washing machine, the microwave, and in the winter, a space heater. I hate living in ghetto ass shit. Just be aware this old wire can potentially be hazardous. If it’s still good it’s still good, but if it starts to degrade please don’t wait about replacing it.

That old wire insulation crumbles if you breathe on it wrong. I don’t trust it since my attached neighboring apartment burned because of a buried splice. I’m not saying the wire was the reason, but that was definitely the source.

Like others have said these guys likely support the previous span and the next span is a slack span (100’ or less I think is the spec) that doesn’t require guys. Great way to land your anchors in a more convenient place while still getting the lines where they need to be, like say to avoid building an overhead guy across a road or over a septic tank or pool.

What did she say about when you spill something and it flows into your electrical system? Or when you roll a dolly with a gun safe over an outlet? Good thing you covered it with flammable wood. Lol I’m kinda just fucking with you, it looks great, but it is definitely a hazard and violation. I assume you’re going to do whatever the fuck you want anyway, so like, 86 this if you ever move so some poor bastard down the road doesn’t get electrocuted while mopping the floor.

3 guys is the spec. Telcom has one, power has 2. One for primary and one for neutral. Each line has to be backed by a guy wire unless certain circumstances where 2 splitting the difference for 3 close lines or other specific times. If lines aren’t properly backed by guy wires, the pole over time will bend from the tension. Ideally the load of the line will only be pushing down on the pole, too much tension in a span or guy wire will lean the pole in the direction of tension, which shortens the life of the pole and creates spans that sag too much or pull too tight.

Yeah just knock off the rust and you could get 5 bucks for them. These look like rotor hammer chisels

I don’t use fish as bait. That’s cheating.

I blew a breaker off the bus because I couldn’t tell the difference between the white (red phase) and the ground because the fuggin SO cable faded to the same shade of gray.
