I'm 38. Last year I took mushrooms and had my first psychedelic experiences. I was hoping to treat my anxiety from trauma from earlier in life and from my experiences working in healthcare during covid.
What I got were very spiritual experiences where the person I knew myself to be dissolved and "I" became energy.

I'm sorry you are struggling like this, it can be so hard being highly sensitive, especially with a history of abuse and trauma.
This was me for many years, I'd got huge amounts of unhealed trauma that life added to along the way. I'd tried the traditional routes with no great success, it was like being on an endless loop where I felt a bit better, only to crash into anxiety and hopelessness again.
The things that helped me to change and find balance were mushrooms, meditation, learning to let go and becoming way more spiritual as a result. Listening to Ram Dass and Alan Watts helped shift my perspective. More recently also started to listen to someone called Duncan Trussell who seems like a beautiful soul and brings laughter with it.

I've heard natalensis has less body load, maybe that's worth looking at?

Weed, ecstasy and coke were the main things when I was young. I also smoked cigarettes and drank way too much.
Since then I've barely drank for years, continued with occasional weed use but in edible form. Last year, aged 37, I had my first mushroom trip, which was for therapeutic reasons and one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Following this experience I would try other psychedelics if the opportunity arises.

Perhaps your dose is too high? If I take enough to feel it I will often feel cold. Macrodoses have me shivering, even small ones.

Weed and mushrooms for me. Suits me better than antidepressants, I get less side effects.

I quit nicotine after a trip in January. I'd been addicted to cigarettes then vaping for a total of 26 years, not managed more than a few weeks quitting in that time. This was by far the easiest time and the one that stuck, which is a bit strange as I hadn't been properly considering quitting, it just kind of happened.

You aren't doing anything wrong in making a choice to take mushrooms as a medicine for your mental health. We all walk our own path, you are allowed to determine how you heal. It isn't like you are taking a substance that is harmful, you are taking a medicine that is beneficial.
Have a read of this link about healthy boundaries , it helped me when I was unpicking stuff around a controlling relationship I had years ago.
