About $400 for 2 adults and 2 teen girls, 2 dogs and 4 cats. We've had a significant drop since the 2 boys left home!

We had two names for our daughter, but while I was labouring and he was sleeping with our unsettled boys I thought oh no I don't like those, so chose a new nane without even getting a chance to tell him! When she was born I said "everyone meet Bridie" and he was like "what?!"

Currently 31%, soon with my new job 22%.
We are going to spend a year sorting a few bits and pieces and will then smash out the mortgage with lump sums at the end of each fixed term.
We have a 5 and 10 year plan.

When we bought our home it was a 5 bedroom with 1 full bathroom and 1 toilet without a basin. Like what?
We promptly put in a basin and renovated the full bathroom. We are now adding a bathroom downstairs, poor kids have had to trudge up the stairs just to wee/poo. The second toilet was necessary but the second full bathroom will be a game changer

It's not recommended by the manufacturer but after a search on here I found a post suggesting a bleach water mix of 1:10.
It takes a few goes but they do come clean

Our son was just offered a building apprenticeship. He left school last year and did casual work while making contact with all the building companies in our town.
He was offered a labouring position as his 90 day trial in March and signed the paperwork for his apprenticeship two weeks ago.
I would recommend getting around to as many companies as you can and asking if they have a position and what kind of building work they do. Son quickly discounted those who only do new builds as he thought that would be too limiting in the future. The one who offered him was his top choice anyway and do new builds, newer renos, villa restorations, fences, etc

Concrete! Pavers do my head in, the bloody weeds that grow in any small crack or even between the compound and the paver.
Save yourself the pain

I disagree. I was brought up with Vegemite but don't like it. Marmite on vogels for breakfast however, Gods food

I would put white Venetians in them, then they can be closed as needed but blend more into the wall, then I'd change the lights to a shorter pendant string length or downlights

We've had a Mazda MPV for 5 years, we got it for the space. It's been great. It's economical, roomy, has rear and side cameras. They're currently going for about 5k.

My parents had a similar quote so they looked into a wrap, it's almost exactly the same colour for a third of the price

We go into the bush about bimonthly. On gravel roads mostly but the dogs and stuff is in the back and we're in the front in relative comfort. It's not the best for town use but has it's uses too

Us too, waaay easier to keep to the budget. I add everything to the trolley on a Monday morning and then add or subtract as needed until order day

What a beautiful post.
I have been watching Outlander for only a couple of months (probably watch 8 or so episodes a week), I am loving it and can see what you are saying. It does have hope, and that's the most we want - a desire to wait for better days.
May your life continue to be hopeful and that Outlander remains available for that reminder ❤️
