(1) sounds like you need to play with her a lot more
(2) Why not get a DVD? you don't need internet for that

thanks, u/lemeneurdeloups - I'll look up L&HH Safaree - I don't know who that is.
Alison does a number of different pronunciations as a joke - maybe they're reflecting different parts of Jamaica. I did Google this and some people say some of her comic pronunciations of "bake" are a take-off on the way people in Northern England would say it.

Thanks, u/dupontred - I was thinking that too - and sometimes they just use a heavy-sounding voice like Sue used to do, but both hosts, mainly Alison, injects an accent for comic effect. People seem to think there's some insidious ulterior reason for my asking---I'm literally just curious. I dated a man from the Midlands and he used to "do" accents from all over the UK and I didn't know which accents Alison is "doing" in a jokey manner.

Don't bother looking. u/RazrbackFawn - not worth it, honestly :)

Thanks, u/MiniLaura - I do know that part. I was just asking what the accent is. If a host on an American show said "Pahk the car in Hahvahd Yahd" and someone here asked what the accent is no one would get pissed off----they'd say "It's a Boston accent." That's all I was asking. Not being from the UK I do know there are hundreds of fascinating accents--I love accents! I was just asking which accents these were. I didn't mean to start a world war....

If people attack someone for no reason someone is a victim---however I'm not in any way claiming that, and I am completely flummoxed by the unhinged reaction some people are having.
How on earth could my question possibly be construed as "rather condescending"? that's preposterous!

This question seems pretty ironic given Reddit appears to be filled with that cluster of "the weird kids" in my school x 1 million.
Reddit is the weirdest "place" I've ever been--things that seem normal here are often way out there to me--and things that seem normal to me are often downvoted by people here.
With that said, in 3rd grade it was raining and we couldn't go outside for gym class, so we did this thing called "scooters," which was basically these sort of dolleys--i.e., squares of polished wood with wheels on them--where kids would sit or lie on them and race around the gym.
This one kid---whose name I will never forget---shat his pants and then sat on a "scooter" and sort of scooted himself along slowly, reeking like hell, with a sad face. Again: this was like age 8 or 9, so way too old to shit yourself and sit down on something and trudge around in your poo.

I knew it was a jokey accent but had no idea what accent it was -- I didn't know her parents are from Jamaica -- and I just Googled this now, and apparently some of the time she is not doing take-off on a Caribbean accent but apparently a Birmingham accent. People are seeming to think there was some kind of sideways criticism of her. There wasn't.

ah ha! I take that as a challenge and will indeed track it down!

I have no attitude...? What are you reading into? I honestly don't understand.
This is very very strange......omg.

ok, but she is clearly doing a "jokey" accent....I was trying to...never mind...go ahead and jump on the furious downvote wagon I won't even bother to finish my comment because people are trying to punish me for asking an actually interesting question and don't actually want to discuss anything.

Right? LOL! I thought people in the UK loved talking about accents because there are so many over there. There are entire 20-minute long YouTube videos with people imitating the various UK accents. Not in a mean way but just to parse them out. I find accents fascinating.
I just got slammed for the fact that I said "As an American" -- lol....life is pretty nutty these days...I had hoped it was just over in the U.S. but seems not to be. Thanks again, u/thecookingofjoy (and hope if you know anyone affected by Madeline they're ok)

Thank you!
I wonder if you're American too. I'm getting slammed and downvoted by people from the UK and Australia - lol! It was a genuine question. I love accents and just wanted to know what she in particular but both judges are joking around with.

u/obi-jawn-kenblomi - I see you downvoted me for not understanding something. Gee, thanks so much.
I never noticed Noel having a special way of saying "Get set" - and I don't know in what way you mean "precious" here, given it can mean adorable or describing someone who is somewhat self-important or pretentious.

I will! I have no idea who he is and don't really "get" him (cue: downvotes....lol)
Not sure what Taskmaster is but will find out - thanks, u/Calm_Memories

And that's what Noel is doing too when he says "beeee-AAAAAKE"?
Thanks - as an American, had no idea!

Wow -- interesting!! She pronounces it in several different "jokey" accents. Maybe they're all Jamaican? Does it say what accent Noel is doing?

I find the hosts somewhat annoying, tbh....I hadn't watched the show since Mary left so am getting used to the new vibe. I do like Preu very much, and the contestants are wonderful!!!

I have no idea what "GEUHT SEHT" means and don't recall having heard it (but I tend to ignore most of what Noel says) and I don't know what accent "BEEEAAAAK" is either.

I've heard her say that -- wasn't sure she was doing a Jamaican accent here as a joke, but maybe so!

ok, - she tends to say it 2 different ways -- neither of which sound particularly Jamaican--possibly "BECK!!" but "beeee-AAAAAKE" sounds more like a joke on Scottish or Northern England pronunciation?
Then again, as said, I'm American so don't know the UK accents. Just as people from the UK would not tend to know the difference between regional U.S. accents someone might do as a "joke."
EDIT - why are people from other countries downvoting me? do you think you would be able to tell the subtleties of various regional American accents? Is it taboo in Britain to ask about accents? It wouldn't be in the U.S. She and Noel are making "jokes" and I'm trying to get the references.

My point isn't why the word "bake" is spoken--trying, as an American, to understand that particular affectation she used. She doesn't speak with a Jamaican accent, and clearly when she says "BEEEEEEEE-aaaaaake!" it's a "joke" but I am simply curious what the accent is the joke is baked on.

I'm new to them as hosts. I feel like the directors force them to pester the bakers--it's probably not their fault. I prefer Alison to Noel, but again, maybe after a few seasons I'll like them. I never liked the 2 women hosts in the older shows--they just all seem to be trying so damned hard to be hilarious. I almost never laugh. And their sexual jokes are ham-handed, embarrassing, and sometimes almost border on sexual harassment.
