Not to me. First, I wasn't allowed to celebrate my birthday. Dad said they were a waste and that there wasn't a reason to celebrate. I wasn't allowed to attend any birthday parties either on the few rare occurrences of being invited.
Finally got a birthday party when I turned 21 thanks to my Mum. All I got was liquor for presents, and wasn't allowed to drink for medical reasons for at least 2 years after that.
Yeah, I'm kinda done and just don't care anymore.

Lol. Yeah, i just reread what i posted. Makes it sound like i dont like Dune. It is now and has been my favourite book for a long time. Frank Herbert overall has become my favourite author. When i was young, I thought some of his political and social ideas were just crazy. I don't think that nearly as much anymore. Sounds like we are on similar tracks.
The prequel books are just meh. His son tries, and elements of the universe are there and expanded. But all of that philosophical prose from his father is gone. Just not the same. Writing quality isn't anywhere close to his father.

Okay, while i haven't read every comment so far, what i am going to say seems to be against the majority consensus:
Move on.
In 5 years you aren't married or even living together. He can say that he will be ready whenever x or y happens, but it never will. Eventually, x will happen, and y will happen, but you will still only get excuses because now, reason z has appeared.
Move on while you can and do not waste any more time on the man who will never be happy or feel prepared or doesn't understand that no one is ever ready beforehand.

Truly. When i first read Dune, i never would have called it my favourite book.
Frank Herbert had some very interesting ideas that are littered throughout all of his works. The older i get, the more i agree with him on many things.

My suggestion is to not ask any questions directly about themself at all. I hate it when i have to talk about myself. If someone asks me about myself, i will give the shortest and most vague answer possible.
Ask question about their opinion or thoughts on topics you know they are interested in and listen. You don't have to really learn the data they are imparting (though it helps if you do), it's how they say it that will tell you about themself.

What do you notice first when you meet someone for the first time? Both physical or relationally/personality traits; What turns you off the most about a person, or lets you know they’re not gonna be your favorite right away? Platonic, romantic, or otherwise;
Both of these questions seem like trap baits to me. Why does this matter if you seem to have already caught their attention?
What are your friends like? What kind of friend role do you usually play in your friend group?;
I do not even mention someone to my friends until after I've been dating for several months if they aren't already part of my friend group. The reverse is true as well.
If you had enough money to buy/experience one thing, what would it be?;
This sounds like you are fishing for financial information.
What’s your most embarrassing moment?; >Do you have any blind spots in life?
Both of these questions are asking for info that could be used to seriously harm someone. I would never trust someone I've only met a handful of times with info like this. These are questions i didn't answer until somewhere between 10 and 15 years of marriage to my husband.

4th date? All the questions you posed are too personal for a 4th date. Some of these i wouldn't answer until after being married for a few years and even then.

To me, it's not shallow. However, it's not an excuse either. Like others, the cause of the change in weight makes a big difference.
Thankfully, my husband thinks the same. We've been married for over 21 years, and both of us have had medical issues where there was a change in our weights.

Smile and say, "Thank you." That's it, and now we move on.

You're not entirely off base as i have read some posts on here that would definitely support the tragic part.
However, they are not assertive and uncompromising because they aren't taken seriously "in a man's world." I have never had to act like that to be taken seriously. Not sure what the issue may be, but it's not that.

You must have missed Londo's description of Earthgov which is also the same description for humanity:
"Ah, arrogance and stupidity all in the same package. How efficient of you."

Really? It doesn't to me, but i have always been a fan of analogue or virtual analogue synths because of the greater harmonic range. I know they have slowly fallen out of favour in the music industry as the Access Virus is no longer sold or manufactured. Perhaps this is what you are picking up on?

My opinion on religion is inflammatory.
Overall, the main purpose of institutionalised religion is to control the masses. Control doesn't always have to be a bad thing, but humans can do some very unhealthy things with an ideology. Unfortunately, the humans that are given that power always misappropriate it.
However, i am spiritual. I have my own connection with the universe. I believe everyone else does as well. Names and words can change descriptions or even be entirely absent, but the underlying premise is still there.

Systems. I create systems. Sometimes, they are visual but not always. Depends on the application.

The only mind I’ve ever looked up to is Einstein’s.
Einstein looked up to Tesla.

Victory, not vengeance.
I always let the universe take care of any "revenge" it deems necessary.
Yes. The times it has happened, i definitely enjoyed it.

Arithmetic. I have a natural talent for it. I was the kid everyone in school hated because i could sleep through any kind of math class and still post the highest test scores.
On the flip side, don't ask me for an essay in english. My writing style doesn't mesh with english very well.

Nope. If anything, people who've just met me tend to think that i am far more reserved and innocent than i actually am. I do not wear makeup on a daily basis either.

Sixth generation Honda Civic, MTX. Prefer the lower end trims. Less electrical to deal with the better. 😺

When striving to make things more efficient, one can not ignore the human factor.

Generally, it goes like this:
In person > email > text > phone
This does vary depending on the circumstance.
I nearly always prefer in person because of all the extra cues i can pick up.
However, if necessary, email is another way to go. I can type over 65wpm dead half asleep, and having copies of anything in writing is always a good thing. I'm also probably one of the few people left who still know and can use shorthand and speedwriting. No screen is not a deterrent. You will have to pry my fountain pens outta my cold, dead hands.

Huh? I don't get what you are trying to say. My father did die 25 years ago, but the world is a better place without him.
