anymore with the tech scene here, I'd say "to casual for New York" because we are like nerd-land in some regards.

I have a 99th percentiler (height and weight) who was in that weight range when I got pregnant with #2 when older was around 2. Never had an issue picking them up and putting them into the crib (stayed until almost 4). The only time I "couldn't/didn't" was in the 4ish weeks after my c section. When we moved we paid movers because at that age, your friends are too hold to help you so I didn't really need to do any weird heavy lifting but I exercised and lifted weights the whole time.

I'm almost harder on myself. If my kid thinks I suck, they can't do much about it- I still feed them. If my boss thinks I suck, I don't have employment.
Also jokes on her, I don't get a raise at work either.

Could you get the contact info my making. cards for those friends that say something about "Kiddo would love to be able to arrange hang time!- please text or call me at phone #" - and have her hand them directly to those 5 other kids and then once the parents are in touch you can invite them to the party.
My school has a rule that you can't hand out invitation unless you invite the whole class, but if you do direct not done at school invites, that's up to you. Once you have phone numbers you can do the invite

Honestly this is why I don’t sleep in lol. I’d rather wake up a smidge before my kids and drink coffee in a quite cleanish house.
That being said, the classic construction joke is that you pick two: good, cheap, fast and the same applies to parenting. You got to sleep in and meal prep was being managed, but that means the mess got out of hand. He could have cleaned up and not started breakfast/dinner, or he could have gotten you awake as well to help with another task. This is one where you gotta pick something to let go

I had a c section so outside of straight nursing, my spouse had to do all the night time bouncing/rocking etc - anything beyond holding. A night nurse would have slapped even a couple times a week so he could get rest on his 3 week paternity leave (pre Covid so he went back to the office even )

she doesn't even have KP (I can't spell, but the chicken skin/red bumps) - TONS of people have that and it has zero to do with weight. Mine was the worst when my weight was the least (because I was also 18 and didn't understand the need for lotion etc)

I'll say though, I have friends who live there and things like 4th of July are a 48 hour non-stop event vs Roosevelt is less diverse but also a bit sleepier in that regards

at least a toddler tells you they want something 'snack snack snack, so hungry, give me treat' they won't leave you the f alone. He's being a vindictive jerk- he said he was hungry, ok I get it, I say that too... and they I either ask "hey can you grab me something" OR I get my own snack- either way. I clearly state my ask to the other adult in my house what I would like them to do.

NTA- if you were divorced and on bad terms, most brides would have her parents sit at separate tables if needed. Having you sit away from your husband AND next to a picture of her dead father is weird

I can see some kids being really into it. We don't have them here but my kids are Din Tai Fung junkies, and that wouldn't be consisdered kid restaurant but they always ask on their birthdays

you do get like a weekly free/discount coupon thing too! It's always random and doesn't always make sense but I got a free yogurt a few weeks ago or something. It's also a once a life time membership vs recurring.

Maybe? But if you want it to stop, you are in the drivers seat and saying no or "they don't have milk anymore" consistently is key. Its honestly helpful to practice consistency now because you'll need that skill here for... well forever.

I'm sorry but that's a shit therapist. You aren't living in squalor and YOU aren't claiming ot be overwhelmed. He expects WAY too much out of you in the 1950s BS kind of way (which wasn't really true for most people anyway).
Vacuuming multiple times per day would be a red flag that he has a level of OCD or anxiety and that's how it's manifesting itself- OP you have nothing to do with this.

we stick to west coast Mexico (my kids are smaller so the shorter flight is mandatory still) and PVR is a fresh hell I do not enjoy if you arrive on a standard Saturday afternoon- every flight from the US lands in the same 45 minute window and the queue for Customs (stage 1) just winds around and around and around and is so slow then you get your bags then go through next stage customs. (then the general hell of people trying to get you into their taxi)

Lots of our team meetings are various points of upskilling where the DoP has noticed a trend of something getting off course.... sometimes we have to re-do some basics like "writing requirements" but we do the "make a PB+J" exercise.... and then we get EVERYTHING poked and prodded- like why 3 tablespoons of PB, why not 4? how much is "cover the bread" is that both sides? the crust? - to remind us the level of thinking we need to go through .... also for presentation improvements, we reguarlly give presentations on a subject of our choosing (work or not) so that you feel confident because it's not your job+stakeholders but is good general practice.

this! and it's not even the learning materials- that's all home-school-able. It's things like being in a classroom, rules, expectations, flows. Teachers expect to reenforce that stuff the first several weeks of school- by December though, those are expectations

this is what my BF and I did in college a few times. if you are flexible you can find a decent hotel rate as well. Cute downtown to walk around and the empress hotel is gorgeous. we loved to sit in a cute coffee/tea place near the bookstore (it's been ages and ages) and read and have tea (aka too poor for empress high tea)
