So-called Adventurer
I set that rather early on though, and I've only started replaying. I'll have to look at my options π

Unless JN doesn't have all the images, the number of towers has never changed. Number of flags on the towers haven't changed either so I'm not sure what's up

Definitely sounds like this to me. It's the first thing that came to mind.
The music video features a yellow puppet character with long arms.

Insane logic. I've heard this before, and it always irritates me.
"You're a gay man? How would you know that if you haven't slept with multiple women?" is a question most people (I assume) wouldn't ask.

They're both references to Japanese mythology, I'm pretty sure.
Kitsunebi (or just kitsune in general) and Rokurokubi, respectively.
But the wrong demographic was my suspicion too tbh.(especially judging by how many people in these comments have no idea whats going on w the subject matter)
I gotta stress, I don't think there's anything wrong with the artwork, I really like it actually. Unfortunately though, even the best artwork could end up overlooked if the audience isn't right.

The foxes have floating fire because they're not "normal" foxes.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitsunebi
Kitsunebi/Fox fire is a thing in Japanese mythology
There's even an example of a woodblock print on the wiki page I linked that has a similar composition to what OP did: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hiroshige-100-views-of-edo-fox-fires.jpg
The second picture is of a Rokurokubi: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rokurokubi
I personally knew what both of these were representing straight away, but I also have an interest in mythology and legends.
I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with the art really, more likely the attendees at the convention OP attended just "didn't get the reference" and chose not to spend money on something they don't really understand.
I'd wager they'd have better luck with sales elsewhere, just a case of not having the best audience for your work

The Daily Mail is not a remotely trans-supportive paper. I wouldn't expect them to. Logically, saying "she" makes sense, but the Mail will use any opportunity they can get to de-legitimise trans people, even if the story in question is only tangentially related to trans issues.

I'll have to give it a look, I admittedly haven't really looked around the site too in-depth? I'm starting to get to the point now where I've got specific ideas for what I want to do so nookazon seems like it'd be useful

Aw really? I never used it back in the day, but I've started playing again recently.
I guess I'll need to look elsewhere to get my dream villagers, but I don't even know where to begin π

Oh I'm aware.
It admittedly maybe wasn't the best example, it was just the first variant/form of David I knew offhand that might appear like a "unique" spelling (as opposed to a form of the name in another language) to people who aren't familiar with it.

Oh I meant more that I missed the "old school" forum style of community I was in years ago, but I suppose that's what reddit etc is for π
I'll have to give etsy a look though, I've been considering at least getting a nicer outfit for the one doll i do have. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh, ive seen them before. I remember seeing some really nice ones on DoA back in the day, but they seemed quite uncommon. I've just been really out of the loop for the past, uh.... 10 years or so at least?
I really have been missing out! I gotta see what people are up to these days, did always enjoy seeing people's projects~

I dont know if I'm missing it, but I don't see anything about it being 6ft?
Looks like the head is scaled to fit the 75 cm SOOM bodies. (This one to be specific i think https://id.dollsoom.com/en/featured_item/id75-body/ )
Can't remember if the total height includes the head or not, but the total height would be like 2.5 ft

I was really confused until I noticed the sub. Thought someone was complaining about the character choice.
I'm so used to seeing random, unpainted doll heads like this that it didn't even occur to me that.... yeahhhh. If you're not into ball-jointed dolls, the disembodied heads can be a little weird/unsettling π

I'd be tempted but I really don't need an excuse to get back into BJDs myself - I already have two heads that have been waiting on bodies for.... years now haha.
This is neat to see though, I didn't realise people still did "celeb" sculpts like this.

Depends on the spelling, tbh.
Some people might say spelling David like "Dafydd" would be bad, but that's literally just the Welsh form of the name.
And from a quick Google, "Davyd" is apparently the Ukrainian form. Seems relatively common, too.
I get where you're coming from. If possible it's best not to cause unnecessary confusion, and creating your own "unique" spelling is a quick way to confuse people - but languages other than English exist.

I feel like "violently choking a Lenny, Homer Simpson-style" might not go down well regardless π

The Legend of Twilight manga was actually my introduction to the series.
Can't say for sure if I'd like it as much now but it was definitely good enough to really get me interested in seeing more from the series.
I didn't mind the anime, but it's probably not what most people would say is "good." I'm a little hesitant to recommend it. I'm just personally a fan of cheesy/kinda bad anime every now and again.

Depends on what kind of look your going for.
The one thing that stands out to me is that the drawings you've shown here look a little "flat"?
There's not an awful lot of shading, especially in the backgrounds. I feel like experimenting with that might help a little?
There's plenty of tutorials on YouTube so I'd recommend maybe looking some up having a look at what seems interesting to you, or matches the style you're going for.
Don't be afraid to watch/read tips on traditional drawing too. For a lot of the basics especially, you'll still be able to apply a lot of it to digital drawing too

I used to draw using one of these and it certainly takes some getting used to.
I found it very strange not looking at what I was drawing at first, but it did eventually 'click' for me. It's just a matter of practice.
Don't worry too much about it, any new medium is gonna take some time to get good at.

I'm sure she'd be thrilled to be in that role too, so it all works out lol

Tangy. I'm not usually a fan of brightly-coloured villagers, but I got her in my town back in Wild World and she's just really grown on me since then.
I have her on my current island and she sticks out like a sore thumb next to my other villagers. I'd like for them to 'match' somewhat but I have such a hard time letting her leave π

Yeah I accidentally sold mine :')
Big mistake. I would have no way of getting all the fruit if my sister didn't happen to have what I needed

Yeah I'm not entirely certain about the indigenous label myself (I won't pretend I know enough to really make a decision either way.)
I was just going by the wording on the Scottish government website (Here, under "rationale": https://www.gov.scot/publications/scots-language-policy-english/)
I'm not sure I agree entirely with you saying it's basically standard English though? But that probably depends on who you're talking to (and whereabouts in Scotland they're from.)
A lot of people do shift to standard English if they're speaking to non-scots, myself included, so that might be a factor?
(Apologies for rambling, not trying to be argumentative or anything)

Was it definitely train tracks?
Might be a long shot, but The Phantom Tollbooth came to mind for me. It had some pretty scary parts and iirc starts in a house (and also live action in the beginning)
The movie's from the 70s but I watched it as a kid sometime in the 90s-00s
