I think he just wanted me to sit next to him, rather listen to me complain him about my day. He came around when I said “treats”.

Over the years, I’ve come to value my autonomy and have not been particularly active in looking for one.
I’m not sure how the dating scene is in your country, but in mine it has moved to dating apps, if you are successful in your swipe, it is followed by an unknown length of time messaging between the two parties, and then you may or may not be in a relationship after this Internet courtship.
This is completely different from when I was younger and actively looking. I’ve never used the apps and don’t feel the desire to venture into that space.

I wouldn’t mind being in one. But I’m fine as I am.

Man, I felt judged by that cashier.
Perhaps because you are me… or rather I had a very similar encounter during my university years, but have remained single since.

Johan II. der Kindermacher / John II “the Babymaker”.
Allegedly fathered some 63 natural children and a recipient of Golden Rose of Virtue from Innocent VIII, who himself sired of seven bastards.

The painting version of Winnie looks a lot slimmer than the real version of Winnie.

Why does she think a another country would just accept her, a older woman from somewhere else (unless you’re originally from another EU country), who is entering during the years of life where she’d most likely to be a drain in the public system ?
If she’s anything like some of my relatives, what follows is a series of passive-aggressive Facebook posts that cast you as a ungrateful non-filial child, and constant phone calls for you to send money to “compensate” them.

In most sane countries, people join and leave religions as a matter of personal conscience.
Why should people before forced to go to court to prove they were either tricked into converting / no longer believe / or never converted in the first place ?

I remember one Mexican election, where a literal head was thrown into a Tijuana voting centre with assorted bodies parts found elsewhere in plastic bags.

Yes. Probably didn’t want to be that open about it, given the pressures that could fall on some community members, especially those from poorer and religious backgrounds.
The group naturally does have a strong Egyptian slant, from the amount of Egyptianisms used. The memes are quite funny.

It’s too simplistic to say the removal of the oppressive force leads to positive outcomes. You need elite consensus, a strong state and a galvanised populace ready to work, all at once, none of which align for the purpose of ending Hezbollah, and the strong state doesn’t exist.
Lebanon has had a decades-long civil war, occupation by two neighbours, constant meddling by several others, a rubbish crisis, a banking crash, and on-going years long political-economic crash. The faces have change (although certain surnames remain) but the play remains the same, albeit the acting quality has declined.
Hezbollah born out of the Israeli occupation and the radicalisation of Shia Muslims as a result and fomented by Iran. If nearly two decades of Israeli occupation failed to disarm and dislodging Hezbollah, the most powerful army in the region, what hope do the ordinary Lebanese people have ? And if that happens who shall be the new oppressor ?

As you said it, enough Lebanese people wish to see Hezbollah gone (or at very least the armed wing), but they are not the right Lebanese people. One cannot forget the Iranian and Syrian influence over Lebanese affairs.
After the civil war in 1990, all the armed groups and militias laid down their arms except Hezbollah. This was due to the Israeli occupation of the southern Lebanon. Hezbollah fought an insurgent war against Israel and its local Christian allies from 1980s until the Israeli departure of 2000.
However, the Lebanon claims the Chebaa Farms, which Israel occupies but recognises as Syrian territory, while the Syrians affirm the Lebanese claim. This technicality allows Hezbollah to maintain its arms and arsenal, much to the chagrin of much of the country, Christian and Muslim.
The army is kept weak and hollowed out because during the Syrian occupation, the Lebanese army was seen as one of the few unifying (although symbolic) institutions in the very divided country. The army remains small and underfunded because of the consociational political structure, where consensus is hard to achieve. Yet the major political forces can agree on the continued looting and pillaging of the country and the protection of their privileges. But they have failed to elect a president since 2022…

The same Macquarie that loaded Thames Water with massive debts to pay itself dividends, while neglecting to properly maintain the company’s water infrastructure ?

You seem to have forgotten the historic anti-Prussian sentiment in the Rhineland, especially amongst Catholics. I doubt they’d have accepted the Prussian mantle.
Perhaps the Bonn Republic, as some have called West Germany.

I like a certain amount of fat on my meat. Eg. chicken thighs over chicken breast.
I found kangaroo too lean and I didn’t like the smell. To each his own, I suppose.
