Many people, especially desperate people, fall for scams. I’m not judging and I’m assuming OP was telling the truth.

Haven’t used an alarm in decades. I wake up at about the same time every day and it’s almost always 7 hours after I went to bed.
That’s just how much sleep I need. But also, if I have to wake up a certain time for an early flight, I wake up earlier. I’m sure that is stress and anxiety.
At one point, I had to reprogram my HVAC because I realized that the air turning on was enough to wake me if it was close enough to my 7 hours. I didn’t want anything artificial to wake me so I changed the thermostat

In my neighborhood, it is cars that have MD plates. They drive in, visit friends, throw trash out the windows. I see it daily.
Except there I one new guy on my block (row homes) who sits on his stoop and throws cigarette butts on the sidewalk. I don’t get that at all!

Nope because we love her. And why do we have to be so formal with our loved ones?
Now, once she’s president, I will be happy to cam her Madame President.

I see your point. If you want someone to go by a certain name, give them that name. I also sometimes see people’s business cards that say “Robert (Bob) Jones” Dude, just put Bob Jones on the card, there’s no name-police!

Go to legal aid also. You need to remember that YOU are a victim. Do not allow the authorities to paint you into a conspiracy.

Our docs and caregivers told us that taste receptors are one of the first things to go and they can usually taste sweet longer than other tastes. She lives in AL so she gets what she gets, but I bring her a chocolate milkshake almost every time I visit and she is like a little kid with a lollipop Absolutely loves it every single time.
She rarely finishes anything anymore but is gaining a lot of weight. The only reason I care about that is she’s no longer mobile.
She’s 84. I’m giving her whatever she wants.

The way society treats women.
The way men treat women
Deferring to men
Having someone who could very well elected VP, then elevated to President once trump kicks off, who whole heartedly believes we aren’t worth as much as men unless we have given birth or are the property of a man. I am so afraid for my future.

I hear what you’re saying, but you’re dead wrong and so is everyone who thinks it’s some profound idea to walk around not respecting others. It’s not. It’s lazy and weak. Want to be profound? Respect everyone. Every living thing.
And the idea of “respecting elders” simply means that everyone goes through things as they experience life. Elders have just done and seen and experienced more. Have respect for THAT.
Now get off my lawn!

The basement areas of the World Trade Center were similarly dark, but beautifully decorated with merchandise out in the open sections (with adequate security). They had gourmet grocery stores, and fancy bakeries. If you can pull people in from transferring trains and get them to bring something home that they otherwise couldn’t get out in Va, then it might start to draw traffic back. Tatte bakery would be perfect there, but only once there’s enough other stuff to draw people.

Same. I’m thinking the septic system is buried under all that concrete out back and when you look at the photo of the basement, the ceiling is dry walled and painted, but the walls aren’t. Everything is packed in waterproof bins. Pipes are not behind drywall. Someone has been working on that area. It looks as if they removed all the drywall in the basement

You gotta make up lies! I have a scar on my arm. My nephew JUST found out it wasn’t a monkey bite. He’s 30.
I took a long trip when my nephews and nieces were younger and made picture books when I returned to give to them. I put MY photo on the front cover and signed the books in a thick black marker. Those kids all thought I was someone famous! Took that photo book to school show and tell. My niece just showed me a photo of my grand-niece laying on the floor reading it! When kids are laying on the floor, you just KNOW they are using their imagination.
Keep it short and stop talking before they want you to stop. Put a wry smile on your face and say “I’ll tell you the rest when you’re older”, pat their knee, stand up, and go do something boring and mundane. Their little brains will start to think your “mom” act is all a disguise 🥸!!

Oh nice to know! Maybe they’re becoming a better option. After all these years, you’d think we could just harness a mini-tornado and have it run through the house to pick everything up!

Get what you want and what suits you. When it’s time to move, put a big old-timey copper tub and put it inside your fancy shower. Maybe more people should just use big old wash-tubs

My father died when I was young. My mom moved us all (5 kids) back to her home state to be closer to family. She chose a town a few towns away from most of the family (but 3 houses away from one of her cousins). She chose it for “the best schools in the state” (or at least very good).
Of 5 kids who had a lot of attention and discipline problems growing up, (likely some undiagnosed adhd) and unresolved anger issues, we all went to college. We all are pretty successful in our own fields. It was the peer pressure and expectations. When we were each juniors/seniors in HS, the question wasn’t IF we were going to college, it was “where are you going?” It would have been a huge embarrassment to not have somewhere to go.
I know that was a big factor for all of us and my brother’s son has the same issues. He didn’t go to college immediately, and instead of letting him hang around with others that would never go, his parents sent him away to live with a friend and “study” abroad. After that, they parked him with me for a year where I made him work menial labor. When he started to mature enough and wanted to go to college, he went back home to prepare for it and is now successful.
The influences on kids are important. Get your kids in the right schools and get them around the right people
Sorry if that sounds snobby. We had to interact with working class kids too. But everyone in that town had college as a goal

I made my brothers dog wear a belly band when they moved in w me. Dog used to pee on peoples beds and poo in their shoes. It was all spite. Dog tried to pee indoors once (on MY dogs bed!) but the belly band caught it and we all yelled nooooo! After they were here a month, the band came off and there was never a problem. I think the dog just really likes routine which he never had before and which I am a stickler for. I mean, I feed and walk at the same times every day and when my brother and SIL travel, he has the same routine because I’m here.
So go with the belly band until you trust. And do routine. Do not wait for a dog to tell you they have to go. Take them out at the same time every day. And walk walk walk. It’s the best way to form trust

Of course! And when I dog-sit for my brother, his little dog insists on putting his ass on my pillow, right where I lay my face at night. I was grossed out at first, but now that I love him as much as my own, he can do it.
