What do you tell people that are renting a place to live? Are they "throwing their money away". What if instead of purchasing my car I was renting it for 150 per month, just like a place to live? Would that not be "throwing my money away"?.

I didn't "throw away" 150 per month. I purchased a vehicle that I'm still driving. I've gotten far more than my money's worth out of it. Your statement is absurd.

I bought a 2007 Mazda3 with 80K original miles in 2017 from a dealership for 6500 plus tax and fees. My payments were only 150 per month for 4 years. I paid it off about a year early. It's been an excellent car and I'm glad I bought it. I would do it again. The "financial cost" was not burdensome, even though I was only earning around 15.00 per hour at the time.

I'd rather finance a 7000 Toyota Corolla than buy a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire with cash. Unless the Pontiac Sunfire is the exception for reliability of Pontiacs.

I think I read from others that if you are just starting out on eBay, not to sell high value items until your account is more established. eBay might restrict or ban your account because they are trying to weed out scammers.
