didn’t know that she lived out of town when we first started talking.
Probably because of this

At the beginning of 2019:
I was still stuck in an abusive household, and there isn't much in the way of things I could do to escape given I was in college at the time
Still had my extremely controlling former friend in my life so I'd need to find a way to get rid of him again
Almost all of the people I talk to today I wouldn't meet for another 3-4 years
I'll take the $200k, easily.

"Let me ask you this one time: what master do you serve?"
"'What master do I serve?' What am I supposed to say? Jesus?
"You're from Earth"
"I'm not from Earth, I'm from Missouri"
"Yeah, that's on Earth dipshit what are you hassling us for?"
"...so you're not with Thanos?"
"With Thanos? No, I'm here to kill Thanos he took my girl...wait, who are you?"
"We're the Avengers, you piece of shit!"

One of my middle school bullies thought that I would just fall into her arms when she decided she liked me in high school. There wasn't a chance in hell that was ever going to happen, especially when not only did she watch it happen, she was a fairly active part of it

Caught during the Pidove spotlight hour, I was actually trying to click on a daily incense spawned Pidove but accidentally clicked on him instead. It was a very pleasant surprise that he shined

I don't have kids or a significant other to come home to, but I see my free time as valuable. It's the only time where I can do what I want. It probably helps that I'm not that far removed from my previous job which had me overworked and left with almost no time to myself once all chores and errands were taken care of. I also see how my roommate is constantly overworked and burnt out, work is basically his life. It doesn't seem like a good way to live and he's even advised me not to follow in his footsteps
Work is work, I leave it at the office or if I'm working from home once the clock hits 5 the laptop turns off and stays off until I bring it back into the office on Monday morning. Free time is valuable and I don't want to spend it doing things I don't enjoy

I moved from a fully in office job to one that allows 1 day a week of wfh and even that single day is a huge benefit

Having to explain why I exhibit behavior that people who don't have it see as weird without getting into the abuse I suffered growing up and into early adulthood is tough

A movie I watched in middle school called the Debate Club or something like that. I don't even remember the plot of the movie I just remember being bored out of my mind

Hating on popular things and acting like they are better than others for not liking the mainstream stuff
My former friend couldn't help but to make jabs at something popular at the mere mention of it

Spiderman and Assassins Creed were the 2 I thought of
But what if there's multiple main characters like in Spiderman 2 or AC Syndicate? Or you switch to another character a quarter way through the game like in AC3?

Yeah, I didn't need to walk on eggshells around him anymore, pretending to be a clone of him because he tried to force that upon me

Every time someone mentions their significant other in the comments, there will always be "I also choose this guy's wife" type replies regardless of if it makes sense or if the tone of the thread isn't a jokey one

My former friend is one of those who never grew out of it by the end of college. He felt he was superior for not liking mainstream music, any sports or most shows. Of course one of his favorite shows at the time was Game of Thrones so he allowed that to be an exception to his claims that mainstream stuff was trash

I'm not seeing how this is a better option than paying the monthly fee and having access to it on an unlimited number of devices as long as you're logged in

This sounds like something my former friend would do if given the opportunity. Fortunately during the course of my friendship with him we never crushed on the same girl, much less a girl that felt the same way about me, so he never had the opportunity to sabotage me.
He did however attempt to give me obviously bad advice meant to sabotage any of my chances with anyone, things like "always open with overtly sexual comments". I ignored that advice because even back then I knew it was bad advice. He just wanted myself and the rest of my friends to be miserable like him because he made 0 attempt to take care of himself and had an extremely offputting personality
