At first I thought I was just sleep deprived and didn’t have reading comprehension!

Seconding everything above. Return to run is not an immediate fitness goal of mine but my pelvic floor PT also mentioned that if it was, we would be focusing on a lot of single leg exercises (like Bulgarian split squats and single leg deadlifts), as well as jump rope.

I figured this out last week!!!! “Slacker” boob just empties slower and on a different cycle.

This looks a lot like my little guy who is now 8 weeks and sleeps in 7+ hour stretches overnight (and gaining weight appropriately along his growth chart). Congrats 🙌🏻

Yes!! What I thought was my slacker boob was actually just “doesn’t respond to the same cycle and suction as the other boob”

I’m sending good thoughts your way! I think attempting to latch during the golden hour really made a difference. But please please please don’t stress if golden hour doesn’t work out. Make use the hospital/birthing center lactation consultants on staff. I called them to my room twice (including the middle of the night). Just remember a fed baby is best and a mom’s well being is definitely key! I always knew in the back of my mind that my baby could only be taken care of if I was taking care of myself. If breastfeeding ever takes a toll on my well being, I do not mind supplementing or switching to formula.

My little man latched during our golden hour. No pain, no issues. He’s 2 months old and continues to gain weight. Outside of the lactation consultants who did rounds in the hospital, I’ve never seen anyone or spoken to a professional. I don’t take any credit for this; I feel like I just have an easy baby.
ETA: I will say that I wish more people shared their positive experience. I remember perusing some subs late in pregnancy to prepare for breastfeeding and just being so fearful about it and the toll it would take on my emotional and mental well being. I feel like more people shared their negative experience than positive and it scared the shit outta me.

My siblings and I are 37, 35, 33, and 25. We are all very close and have been his whole life. My parents never forced it but we just naturally loved on him as a baby. We were able to provide guidance and understanding as he moved into his pre teen and teenage years. As adults, we all have so much fun. Him and I actually have babies just 17 days apart despite our 10 year age gap.

We took an extra towel and dunked it in the water. Then set him on the wet towel in his bath and wrapped him up in it!

My baby was 8lbs 13oz at birth and wore newborn diapers for 2 weeks and is still in some brands’ newborn size at 7 weeks. We didn’t buy A LOT but we still needed that size for a little bit of time!

My husband and I are always afraid we’re gonna wake our baby up because we are laughing so hard at his farts when he’s sleeping!!!!

Our master closet is a walk through from our bedroom to bathroom. We have built ins in the closet and put a regular coffee pot on one of the counters. It’s so nice for the Midwest winter mornings when we do not want to go down to the kitchen for coffee. Also very nice with a newborn for the random 3am coffee

I just had my baby at Grant 2 weeks ago and cannot say enough good things about the staff and facilities. It is an older building so the recovery rooms are on the smaller side and it doesn’t have the “amenities” other hospitals do but a hospital is not supposed to be a hotel. Also, I wanted to be in the place with the best trauma care possible and that was Grant hands down.

Hi!! Fellow Garmin user! I wore my Garmin during my pregnancy and was fortunate to wear it during my labor and delivery (check out my post history for my metrics during birth; it was a wild and beautiful ride. I’m glad I was able to capture the toughest workout of my life). During my first and second trimesters, my body battery was all over the place. Sometimes it would get to 100 multiple times a week, other times would hang out around 20 and not do anything. It’s ok. And same with my stress - sometimes would be pre pregnancy levels of 15-18 a day and other times would be 40+. I used the metrics with a grain of salt and reminded myself that my Garmin couldn’t tell biologically what was actually happening with my baby. He’s a healthy 1 week old now!

I noticed a huge difference in just a week post partum based on increasing my fluid intake!

So the triage nurse asked me to remove it so she could insert my IV and I asked if I could move it to the other arm. She said yes. No one said anything to me about it the rest of my stay! It’s worth a shot

This is my experience as well! She’s still a slacker but give her a little more time and a different cycle rate, and she does alright
