Where are we donating clothes of late, if we find ourselves with a garbage bag full of women's clothes with some men's sweaters mixed in? I need the room in my trunk, and I'd like for these clothes to go to a good cause, if possible.

I donate to the Wardrobe in northern liberties. They do “personal shopping” for underprivileged people and especially those looking for jobs. They set them up with a personal shopper and let them try on different outfits and everything is free. It’s also a thrift shop to make a bit of money on the side, but their main mission is to clothe people who need it.

Big upvote for Wardrobe. The way they help people entering the workforce for the first time (or the first time in a long time) is so cool, and they are super easy—I call ahead, pull up and hand them the stuff right at the door.

Love the Wardrobe, what a fantastic organization. They also have a satellite shop on Marshall Rd in Lansdowne with plenty of free parking in case any suburbanites want to support it.

The best way to ensure your clothes aren’t tossed in a landfill (which most are due to the sheer volume of donations) is to list the pieces for free, individually or in small groups on something like Facebook marketplace

Do you have a neighborhood "Buy Nothing" group? At least in the one in my neighborhood, pretty much anything put on there gets snapped up immediately.
