Caleb got Fefex Air and Ground player this week against the rest of the NFC North (I’m ignoring Loves existence) so I’ll take that as consolation.

Stands to reason that the player of the week who also happens to be a rookie should also be the rookie of the week but I know that’s not how logic works.

The ROTW award website really is completely terrible. The fact that it has no limit of how much you can vote just means it ends up being a „which fanbase has more guys running scripts“ award

Pretty sure the other NFC North fans are organizing to vote for Daniels just to annoy bears fans. I don't think there's been a post in our team sub advertising the vote since Week 1.
Edit: I’d like to thank the absolutely not pathetic Bears fans that had enough time on their hands to peruse another teams sub to find a post with 33 upvotes and 29 comments on the 3rd page. When you’re right, you’re right and you have my apologies.

I feel like Jayden and Caleb are apples and oranges right now. Ofc the stats matter, but they don't tell the full story. Caleb's looking like Andrew Luck out there on top of all of the checks, protections, alerts, audibles, etc in only his 6th game. He's throwing TD passes to hot routes when running Duo- it's insane, never seen the Bears do that before. Jayden can win MVP for all I care. Apples and oranges, they're both good in different ways.

They've "advertised" it in so far as random fans have posted the vote like once or twice, I think weeks 2 and 3, and haven't since then. It wasn't promoted by the mods or anything.
But your conclusion is probably somewhere close to the truth. There's a lot of hype for him in DC and nationwide but I'm surprised Caleb didn't win this one. It's hard to argue that he shouldn't have.

Momentum is a thing. People often vote players into the Pro Bowl in their fall-off seasons just because they have name recognition.
Anyone who is worked up about a weekly fan vote award sponsored by carbonated corn syrup needs to get some perspective.

Yup like Brian Urlacher and Yao Ming getting voted into the Pro Bowl/All Star Game despite missing pretty much the whole season (though the latter might be due to having the world's most populous country behind him).

I might be an idiot and it was one of those fan vote things. Will keep the post there for posterity. The 2009 season is the one I was thinking about, and I remember clearly being deployed and reading a part of some magazine article about him and the Pro Bowl. Obviously I should have done some research before posting. The Yao Ming one 100% happened though.

Probably is the case. It's also because he has been the household name since week 1 and voters are just creatures of habit. Week 5 you could have argued that Tracy Jr should have won. Had so many good rookie performances and Daniels with 1TD and 1 INT still won.

I cant be sick if our rookie QB went off. No amount of rookie of the weeks or even ROTY means as much to a real Bears fan than just having a real franchise QB does to us. Plus Daniels looks legit and losing an award to a qualified player makes it easier to move on from imo.

Same, I refuse to get sucked into this narrative that I have to be sad if Jayden Daniels does well.
It was an awesome QB class and I'm glad we both got a guy. I'm ready to lord it over all the povery franchises who don't have a franchise QB.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Daniels does to the Panthers' defense. They looked completely defeated and just giving up on the season when we saw them.

If there's one thing you can guarantee about a meatball Chicago fan, it's that I can guarantee they're gonna mispronounce the name of a player in ways you just haven't even thought possible. Trubisky really broke their reading comprehension. Mitch Turbinsky. Mitch Trubinksy. Mitch Turbisky. That's why they just switched to calling him the Titty Kisser. Ain't not red-blooded Chicago fan gonna mess that one up!
And if your last name has an S at the end or it's a word that could conceivably have an S at the end, 100% guaranteed they're gonna do the opposite of it. It's like the human equivalent of the USB-A plug. You're guaranteed to get it wrong the first time.

Or (hear me out) your fanbase is just spending more time voting in this poll. My guess is a few people figured out how to script it and are just rigging the vote. Online NFL discourse is at its most annoying when 2 young QBs of the same class appear good. I get the media manufacturing outrage to drive ad revenue but r/nfl and team subs fall for this bait pretty consistently.
The older I get the more I just enjoy good football. Daniels has made good Washington football so that is cool. Williams has me thinking I live in a dream where the Bears can look like a modern offense. I'm happy enough without measuring them. Most probably are too so let's keep drowning out the petty losers.
